The CGT-175 Heavy Modular Freighter represents the future of Bulk Freighter, specifically created and produced for the Galactic Trade Federation. at great overall cost to the megaconglomerate. Its main purpose is to replace the outdated Lucrehulk Class LH-3210 Cargo Freighter in the Trade Federation Merchant Fleet.
Commissioned by the Trade Federation Directorate in 900 ABY as a preemptive action to safeguard its trade routes across the galaxy amidst the ongoing Galactic Alliance-Dark Empire War, its purpose was to facilitate the transportation of millions of cargo units between systems while ensuring protection against pirate vessels and enemy raiders that might seek to sabotage the hyperspace lanes for their perspective factions.
With dimensions measuring approximately 2,000 meters in length, width, and height, this bulk freighter is equipped with a substantial amount of cargo space, allowing it to efficiently provide food and supplies to numerous star systems throughout the galaxy.
The cargo area is often rearranged to create extra hangar space, transforming the large freighter into an improvised carrier capable of protecting itself against hostile warships and deploying starfighters to assist the fleet in battle.
