Given the Chaldean Potentium's origins as a heretical Jedi sect, it is natural that many of their earliest warriors would have wielded lightsabers. Over time the need for a cheap, mass produced equivalent to lightsabers to be standard issue equipment for Chaldean soldiers gave rise to an alternative: flameswords. Chaldean flameswords are a type of energy weapon consisting of a focused plasma blade, much like a lightsaber, but they are not as strong as the weapon of the Jedi. Chaldean flameswords are also distinguished by their curved scimitar blade.
