Private Chance Encounter

Nar Shaddaa's nights were known to be dangerous but also captivating, bright light of the neon signs escaped from the establishments and advertisment boards, giving dim light to the maze of streets below, sound of metal echoed as people walked by, each heading to do their own thing, pirates, criminals, bounty hunters. All sorts of people were walking about, but none appeared to attack one another, a sort of gentelman's agreement kept a tenious sense of peace in this place.

Yet any disagreements that were to be had were quietly taken to the side, distant rings of kinetic weapons or blaster shots were a common place. To the point where it melted into the background noise of humming speeders, loud laughing and talking, and so forth.

A girl walked through the neon-lit streets, looking different than most. Not well-equipped, not a mercenary. Her dark robes mixed with some of the outer rim gunslinger outfit gave a look that seemed moslty harmless... Just a nomad passing by. Even those with mystical connections could barely sense her, as her signature appeared to be melding with that of her surroundings. But aptly trained and those that know what the implication of the hazy image in the force meant could see right through such illusions, after all. She did not appear to be well-trained, it posed a high risk, but her stride was filled with purpose and taking the long way meant lack of achivement. And so she thought, what are the chances however, of encountering such specific individual on Nar Shaddaa of all planets?

Following his encounter at Tython did Zuraxin feel more confident. Not only had he bested the Grandmaster of the New Jedi Order, he had managed to keep hold of the Imperial ruled Deep Core. Soon he would take a more active role within the Dark Empire, but first came the curious manner of seeking an apprentice. There were many to choose from out in the galaxy, many worlds in which the Force swirled such as this one. Zuraxin was no stranger to the smugglers moon, for the Force was so vibrant that one could easily get lost in it. As per his custom did Valek appear as if some feeble man, kept alive by various cybernetic pieces such as the respiratory apparatus around his own face. He was covered in dark robes, his body moved decrepitly by the help of a Sith fashioned cane. The persona of a weak man was something that he prided himself in, even as he roamed the streets of Nar Shaddaa.

Nar Shaddaa was place that like many in Hutt Space would often demand to not be found. Everything from bounty hunters, pirates, spice addicts, and all manner of scum and villainy would come to make their way on this world. Zuraxin seemed to fit in, for many assumed to have looked harmless, barely able to move by perception unless helped by his implants, his devices, but that was the idea. He wandered through the dark crevices, alleyways and corners in which he seen it all. Simple beings thriving in constant motion. Through all the hustlers, thieves, murderers he could feel something lurk. He only kept moving through spice deals, arguments with blasters and other shady deals, he moved through as if shadow unseen. Barely was he noticed by anyone, a pale figure with a purpose in one good eye, and ambition in a burning, red gaze. There he would see her through the neon advertisements strewn all over.

He saw what looked to be a young woman, he could say that she seemed to blend into surroundings of it all. However, her dark robes didn’t indicate her as a common thug, nor even a simple citizen. A pale hand would touch the corner of a durasteel wall in the alley. He watched with curiosity, sensing that her mind connected to his. Who was she? He wondered as the shroud of a man emerged through the dingy alleyway, slowly did he appear behind her. “Are you lost?” He asked, he moved as if he was a beggar himself, his movements made more slow in the disguise of his weakness. She would hear wheezing accompany the deep mechanical tone.

As he approached closer, and closer. Valek's mastery over the Force and a particular expression of it allowed him to see through that rudimentary disguise, beyond he could feel it. The Force was strong with her, such untapped potential resided within her. The girl was no doubt surprised to hear a voice calling out to her from behind, she turned around sharply.

"Oh, uhm... No, not quite... I was just looking around- this place is really pretty at night."

The girl answered awkwardly, not the best at dealing with people. But she felt eased by the old visage, lowering her guard somewhat. In spite of her connections she was far more easygoing, no one could suspect her true allegiances so easy, mostly because the softspoken tone of voice, her innocent expression - all of it was fairly genuine, a lot of people in the Galaxy however did not need an excuse to kill people who were force-sensitive, after all, they were often the source of most conflicts. It is why so many of them hid or stuck to their respective places, temples, orders, shadow churches, and cabals. Many envied the power they held, and others simply wanted to be known for the prestige of taking down a force user. And Aliyah could find no respite, or any semblance of order so far, yet she refused to be bound to a single location, or planet.

"Why do you ask, do you need help, sir?"

She softly queried to him. Hands behind her back, though through the cloak it was visible that she has a vibrosword by her side, she wasn't entirely defenseless, yet in spite of it one could not possibly know the extent of her skill, she could be a Jedi for all Valek knew - though her signature in the Force did not foretell any particular alignment, which could only mean that she was far too new to the Force to be recognized as either paragon of the Light or Dark.

Valek would approach the girl slowly, carefully when he asked his question. Through his perception he could see she was hiding a weapon, her soft tone displayed as if she was an ordinary girl. Zuraxin could see that she wasn’t, in her robes she carried a weapon, but a Sith Lord wasn’t afraid in the slightest, only that his curiosity brightened as most the dark, disgusting alleyways. His steps were slow, she could hear him try to take each breath, a sharp exhale that was inhuman to the ears would resound with every breath.

“Indeed it is, even the most ugly parts can still find beauty. The advertisements compared to the dark corners for example.” He agreed with her, his tone while synthetic tried to display some friendly courtesy. The smugglers moon was teeming with both life and the Force, yet there was something strange to which Valek couldn’t put his finger in. She felt strong in the Force, while he kept his own presence hidden. He appeared to have been just another citizen down on his luck, meeting this girl by mere happenstance. Yet as all things were, the Force often decided otherwise. The pale man covered in dark robes to hide the machinery moved to stand behind her, in the light he looked like a deathly phantom looming over her.

He tapped his cane against the hard ground, his movements made slow, as if he had difficulty moving. “If you would be so kind to trouble a humble being in a walk through the streets? I don’t believe in these places that one should wander alone.” He would ask, his cane tapped to the ground as he would move to walk beside her. He would try to read her through the Force, but had trouble to witness if she followed the light or the dark. Though she had intrigued him enough to seek more answers, to see who she really was. He didn’t move ahead, nor behind waiting for his newfound friend to react to his offer. The red glare of his eye focused on her, as if to read what her biometrics would reveal anything. Beyond simple data, he had no way of knowing if she would accompany him, or attack him out of caution.

Clearly she was an enigma, the girl looked around as if trying to get an idea of where they were, it did show her more analytical side, she wouldn't want to be walking straight into a spice den or 'invading' a territory. The girll lifts her hand, and the cloak partially, casually leaning her hand on the vibrosword as she would nod and walk ahead of the man, silently accepting his offer.

"I listened to rumors a bit, if we keep walking ahead we'll get into territory of a band that's currently having a rivalry with another, they're 'shoot first, ask questions never.' because of that, so it'll do us well to turn left or right after we walk for a bit."

The girl, no doubt. Did not come to a criminal world unprepared, with a little bit of streetwise she could assess the threats and respond to them before they could reach them rather than carelessly wandering into a location without any intel. In spite of her not being the most trusting person - she was asked by someone to guide them safely, that much she set out to do. These skills were rare to come by, while a part of it could be considered her innate nature, the mastermind could tell it was more than that, either she was experienced or she had a particular training, an agent maybe?

"Killing them would be very little issue if I prepare accordingly but- I'd rather not put you through unnecessary risk."

Aliyah had no qualms about murdering, but she wasn't a maniac either when it came to taking life, sometimes obstacles stood in her path that she could not move through any other means, might as well destroy them. That is probably part of why this particular force user survived so far, ruthless when needed, but would prefer to remain out of danger's way if possible - she could not brute force her way through all situations.

"What brings you here at night, sir?"

The question was carefully asked, the girl was cautious of the man. She did not blindly trust him even if she did agree to guide him. At this point both of them engaged into some sort of mental chess, taking shots and trying to figure information about each other, perhaps they weren't all too different.

Valek had wondered if the girl before him would kindly accept the gesture. While he knew well that he could move by himself, he was able to navigate the busy streets and slums with ease. On the other hand he felt intrigued by this girl before him, sensing that she didn’t appear to be much like himself, he was determined to know more of her. If all had went well, would he reveal his true intentions but for now simply regarded himself as nothing more than a wanderer. He watched carefully, noticing the weapon she had hidden, but wondered when she would use her blade? Would it be him or the scum that had stuck to every part of the smugglers moon?

The mechanical monstrosity would move to hobble next to the girl. His movements clunky, slow with each tapping of his cane along the cold Duracrete. They passed by advertisements, junk strewn along the corners of the streets, the occasional beggar asking for a spare credit. She had mentioned about a group of thugs who wouldn’t ask twice about the two of them.

“I appreciate the warning, as I don’t seek to cause any trouble. It would be best to avoid any unnecessary entanglements if possible.” He said, his synthetic tone boomed in agreement to her words, they continued to walk along the street. Next to the advertisements would he also of graffiti on the walls of the alleyways. They continued to walk, she explained about how killing them would have been an easy task. The man seemed to have taken some comfort by this, for she didn’t know what he truly was capable of, not yet. Simple thugs were playthings to him, but it was important for now to maintain his mysterious appearance.

“You’re too kind. The streets are always crawling with the worst, but it seems I have a capable guardian. You look like you can handle yourself.” He said his tone showing his best gratitude, his feet would drag as he moved in step with her, the constant rhythm of his cane moving in tandem with his feet. He gave off the appearance that moving was a simple struggle, as if he was a harmless being unable to inflict pain on anyone or anything, but much like his traveling companion did things prove little as they appear to be.

The two kept walking until finally reaching a stop. They looked on the path towards the left and the right of him, wondering what path to take did the girl finally ask him what brings him here at night. “Me? Well, I’ve heard many things about the smugglers moon. The Force is what guided me here, for a place such as this the Force moves in different ways, but here it feels as if you couldn’t be found. I came here hoping to get lost, but we all cannot ignore what the Force has in store for us. What brings a girl to a place such as this?” He asked while still maintaining his weakened facade. He appeared as a mystic wanderer, someone who was guided by the pull of the Force. The two would stand at the crossing, while Valek made a gesture to move towards the left. He hoped they would avoid the thugs, but one could never be so sure on streets such as these.

The girl's eyes scanned the neon-lit streets, the steps and hobbling of the mysterious figure echoing across the emptiness that filled the streets, they were walking across increasingly less and less populated areas, although the perceived danger grew, with it also came the momentary peace, the smuggler's moon was beautiful in it's own way when the thugs aren't around.

"I am not most capable, I've little to no combat experience, neither do I have much training." The girl explained to Valek, she felt safe enough to admit to the fact that she wasn't the strongest around. It was a risky move, after all she did not exactly know the man's intentions, though on the contrary. It could be that she was lying to the old man, but if so - could it be because she saw through him?

"The Force, you say? It guides me too, in ways I cannot quite explain. Sometimes, it is beyond me." She vaguely mentions to the man, sighing in defeat. Her own knowledge of the Force was minimal, and so was her mastery over it, in spite of her powerful potential - without proper training she couldn't get much use out of it. "I was seeking intelligence on a few planets which I'm going to pass by in my odyssey, I'm slowly creeping up to the core worlds- that's where the Alliance is, while I do have... Strong opinions about them, I still wanted to see all the things they've built, and the nature, flora they have." The girl nods her head as she explained her motivations to Valek, she was no different, a wanderer on an odyssey to see most of the Galaxy, with seemingly mystical connection to the Force, guided by their pull all the same.

She went left, guiding him to come with. Though as both of them would feel, even those streets weren't safe from danger, and a brief sense of unease hints that there might be more about the road they're taking than what can be seen at a first glance.
