Chance Encounter

Dreams were something of an oddity for Ror'jhan, mostly because she generally never had them. Her nights were usually filled with the still calm of the void as her body rested from the previous days activity, but not tonight. Tonight, much like the entirety of the previous week, her sleepless mind was wracked with the same scene over and over. A land both green and grey that filled her nostrils to the brim with the smell of humid vegetation, the sound of a lightsaber ignited and a dark blob of a figure that in her dreams loomed over her like a tower. Each time it would speak but each time Ror'jhan could not hear it's words and then like all the other times she would awaken. As Ror'jhan opened her eyes and regained her bearings it took but a moment to recall where she was and how she got there.

She was on a smuggler's ship which was heading for the Dagobah system. Around the time Ror'jhan started having these dreams she also started feeling a pull of sorts..something ethereal yet physical which was drawing her towards this system despite having no previous knowledge of it. At first she simply tried to brush it off, however as the days went on and that ethereal pull got stronger, she slowly gave into the urge and decided not to question it. Ror'jhan had grown to trust her instincts over these past few years so why fight them now? Although she had no solid destination as she set forth on ship after ship heading into the general direction, over time it was becoming clearer where she was meant to go.

A soft knock on the door followed by a deep, broodish tone interrupted her thoughts. "As per your request, I'm waking you. We've arrived." Said the co-pilot. He was a rather tall human with an unfriendly disposition, particularly towards his Sith guest. But who can blame him? He wouldn't take her payment so she had to pursued him and his captain by a show of force.

"Thank you. Now, just land the ship and let me off and you can be on your way." Ror'jhan responded as she rose to her feet, checking her weapons at her sides and placing the hood up in it's proper place to conceal her racial identity.

The response of the co-pilot sounded like a cross between a kick to the door and spitting. Ror'jhan couldn't help but chuckle at the fool. Too cowardly to say anything to her face but still resisting enough to make child like gesters when he thought she wasn't paying attention..it was almost adorable, if it wasn't so pathetic. Just then, as the ship broke the atmosphere of the planet Dagobah that ethereal pulling released it's grip. It wasn't gone however just spread out as if pulling her in all directions. It had taken awhile but she knew she had arrived in the place she was meant to be..now all that was left was to find out why.

A soft clunk and jerk of the ship singled it had made it's final touch down. As she walked through the door to her staying area and moved towards the entrance platform which was lowering down, accompanied by the sweet sound of it's hydraulics the two man smuggling team waited side by side to see there guest off with a mix of pleasure and disdain. As she passed by them, Ror'jhan cut her yellow eyes over to the Captain who shrunk away instantly at her gaze. They wasted no time closing the ship behind her and initiating lift off proceeders the very second she had touched the ground and were gone only moments later.

Ror'jhan didn't mind though, she never planned for them to stay and furthermore she was enamored by the area around her. It was so completely alien to her icy home world although it looked much like her dreams. Rich, green forest which were covered in a dense grey fog which felt as if it could choke the life out of a lesser being. The ground was marshy and squished beneath her feet with each step. However what was most noticeable to her was the force. Although largely untrained in the basics of the force she, being a member of the Sith race could feel the force in a physical way, the dark side of the force especially...even gain sustenance from it.

This planet held power and power was exactly what Ror'jhan wanted to achieve. Power to grow stronger, power to master herself and so much more. The only question was how to do so and was it the real reason she was pulled to the area? Slowly, Ror'jhan began to make her way to the South walking what many might consider aimlessly, hoping to stumble upon what she was seeking. She figured her instinct brought her this far..it should carry her the rest of the way as well.

Vengeance sat kneeling in a small grove of trees not far from the little alcove he had been calling home. It had been a few weeks since he disappeared into the night never to return to his home on the OS capital. His outer cloak and shirt lay on the ground next to him. Light scarring peppered his chest with a line scar diagonally across his right cheek. Life on Dagobah was a tortured existence in more ways than one. He sat there doing what he always did that time of day meditating. His meditations were interrupted by a ship flying overhead. Vengeance glanced up curiously watching it fly over him and land towards the north. He sat there for a few more minutes before he stood putting his shirt and cloak back on.

He smirked.

"Well well what do we have here....................uninvited guests maybe?"

He looked off into the treeline almost as if speaking to the darkness itself.

"Shall we go say hello................it would be rude not to wouldn't it."

Pulling his hood over his held Vengeance seemed to melt into the darkness itself slowly stalking towards the direction the ship had gone. His steps were soft, silent, and methodical. The trees hid him from view, the sounds of the swamps masking any sound he made.

He smiled as he walked whistling softly to himself his eyes closed seeing only through the force. It lead him forward, it told him anything and everything he needed to know. The creatures stirred around him with each step he took.

Ror'jhan would have been walking for what seemed like hours wrapped up within the awe of the planet she was on. Her senses overwhelmed, never having experienced such a lively and force rich environment before. After what had been, in reality about half an hour of walking Ror'jhan felt a small jolt in the air, an ominous feeling. Something felt off to her, out of place. Something ever so slightly stood out from the rest of the planet. It felt different from the breath of the trees, the wings of the creatures in the sky, however Ror'jhan's senses were note acute enough to tell where it was coming from or even how close it was..simply that it was there.

Some perhaps would feel fear in a situation like this but Ror'jhan instead was overcome with..curiosity. Letting out a soft sigh she pushed her hood back and the cloth around her mouth down, showing her facial features in full as she sat upon the ground, crossing her legs and placing on her lap her lightsabers. Ror'jhan had no desire to run but she also had no clue how to find this disturbance she was sensing. So, the best course of action was to perhaps simply sit and wait. If she could tell something was out there, then perhaps it could sense her as well. Perhaps it, whatever it was would be just as curious.

Closing her eyes and placing her hands together in front of her, she would allow her senses to stretch out before her, entering a meditative state. Her senses sharpened and although her eyes were shut, through the force she could see the area around her clearly. From the small things crawling on the ground to the strange things lurking beneath the muck. All that was left to do now was to focus, relax and see if anything stand out would come. But she had no intention of hiding. Truth be told..she might have even been slightly excited to find out what it was she was sensing.

Vengeance walked for a short while towards the inevitable meeting with the inhabitant or inhabitants of the ship. It was not very long indeed before he stopped a large tree blocking him from the siting figure's view. He looked and watched for a moment almost as if deciding the interlopers fate. Then a thought hit him........a thought that made him smile. Taking a page out of another's book Vengeance created a couple of doppelgangers of himself. He created five of them to be exact. Each one appearing behind a different tree in a circle around where the interloper sat. Once in place he stepped out from behind the tree walking in a circle giving off the idea that the six robed figures were a pack of Kath Hounds circling prey.

"What do we have here..........an uninvited guest.....................and all alone on this big bad world."

The robed figures continued to circle a seemingly disembodied voice letting out a cackle. Were they all laughing or just one of them..........were there really 6 of them? Vengeance had to admit he enjoyed the game. Maybe a bit more than he should.

"You are not wanted here..................you are trespassing." "Have you come here to die young one?" "You will find only death here."

As he finished speaking the six robed figures disappeared behind trees and stopped as if they had disappeared all together.

"Interesting.." Ror'jhan thought to herself as the mysterious figures circled her. They reminded her of phantoms both in how they moved and how they sounded, gliding around her oh so easily. But she was not intimidated, she did not even move for her weapon, she simply stayed in her meditative state, listening to what was spoke and observing there odd movements. However as one asked "Have you come here to die young one?" she couldn't help but crack a smile which soon turned into soft laughter as another one finished with "You will find only death here." before retreating in different directions and behind trees.

"Me and death are already extremely well acquainted I'm afraid and he finds me..distasteful." Ror'jhan responded, the remnants of her laughter dying off in the echo of her voice. As she continued to speak she rose to her feet, a lightsaber in each hand as her yellowed eyes opened staring straight in front of her. "Besides..if death could so easily take me, then I would hardly be worth this existence.." She finished, punctuating her sentence with the sound of two crimson blades igniting, sizzling the overly moist air around the blades. Although her eyes opened she was maintaining her calm for the moment, keeping her senses about her to be aware of anything that might approach. She was ready.

"Whoever you are, you do seem powerful and if you're not willing to play nice and share....I guess I'll just have to take that power for myself. Or..." She trailed off as her eyes cut back behind her towards one of the trees one of the six figures fled behind. "Do you intend to hide and play games all day?" She gripped her sabers slightly as she finished her thought. Many would be scared in a situation like this and it would make perfect sense to feel that way. However, what Ror'jhan felt in that moment wasn't fear, it was excitement. For so long now she had been seeking out power and now not only has she found a promising planet but also a promising being. Sure, she could die here. She was fully aware of that but death isn't what scares Ror'jhan, weakness does.

All she could do now was wait for the response and possible attack. Going on the offensive against such a seemingly powerful unknown was reckless, not strength. This could be the very moment she had been searching for and Ror'jhan felt she was long overdo.

An cackle echoed through the trees.

"Then you know nothing of death..............how cliche of your kind..........

After a minute a single robed figured passed from behind a tree moving to the next one seemingly tracing the same circular movements.

"Then I expect nothing less............"

By the third tree again six figures appeared circling.

"You assume because of your red skin you automatically have value......................."

After a complete circle again only a single figure appeared only this time much close making the same circle around the trespasser. Face it Vengeance had always loved playing games with his prey even as a young Acolyte.

"What you think you are the first...................."

Again six robed figures circling.

"...............red skinned one we have met..............."

After a few minutes the six figures seemed to draw and ignited red sabers. Each one twirling it around in their hands with a cackle.

"We love our games..................we so rarely get visitors these days." "We grow bored so easily."

Without warning they all closed in at once at the last minute their sabers rotating blade downward the hilt reaching out to touch her. Only the real Vengeance actually had any substance the hilt reaching out to touch the back of her neck just under her head. If his ruse succeeded Vengeance would simply say boo in a rather normal sounding voice before leaping a few steps back.
