Chaos Against Cancer

Hey Chaos, it's me again. Once more I'm bringing attention to the true evil, cancer. This desease plagues so many, and ruins so many more lives. My girlfriend, [member="Ven"] 's writer, and I are going down to Mass in a couple weeks to visit her uncle, Justin. He has stage four colon cancer, and he's taken himself off Kemo because it simply isn't working.

Trapped on a phone I can't show the pictures yet, but Justin is a star wars lover through and through. An avid cosplayer with years under his belt of Star Wars outfits from reble troopers to Ben Kenobi. Ven thought it would be amazing to have a picture of him as a Jedi drawn by someone, and my first thought came here, to chaos.

Despite our issues with one another, we band together when things get tough, and we do care. You don't have to draw anything, but anything you can do to let Justin know we do care, even if you don't know him, would just be great. He's an amazing guy, let's let him know.

[member="Fortuna"] - My step-dad doesn't really do 'typical/traditional' art in his work, and I have no idea how busy he is, but i'll send him a message about this. He is a professional artist (sculpting, painting, sketch, mixed media, etc.. his typical stuff is here, but he can draw 'normal' too)

If he has the time, I am sure I can cajole him into doing it for you and Justin. I sent off a message to him, and i'll try to call him in a few if this cold/flu bug doesn't knock me out (or the meds don't) and he hasn't responded. I'll keep you updated. No promises, but I will ask him and several other folks I know with some artistic talent, see if i can't scare up one or more contributions. If it's done in color (sometimes my step-dad will, sometimes he doesn't... ) is there a preferred saber color? And i'm assuming traditional Republic era Jedi?

Stay strong, Justin! My close family has also been affected by cancer, and it's incredibly heartbreaking, but with support and love, each day can still bring joy. Best to all of your family!

I just can't believe how much support this has gotten in less than 30 minutes. The fact that none of you really know my uncle and you're all speaking out for him or trying to do something. It means so much to see and read all of this... (Also I messaged him about his favorite sabre color without much warning or explanation. So might know in a bit) but seriously you guys make me want to cry, how much you're stretching your necks out for him just to support and show him good favor. I love it.

Tell your uncle you have all of our support. I don't know anyone personally who has cancer, but I do know that the disease takes many every year. I wish I could draw decent people or I would definitely do that, but a simple "stay strong!" will have to do. In the meantime though, May the Force be With Him, and l hope he continues fighting the fight for as long as it takes to win. :)

Like a lot of us here, i'm no artist. I'm a writer, if I do say so myself. What I can do is wish you two well. My family is unaffected by cancer, but ive seen what it can do to families. You have my condolences, as well. I hope everything turns out alright for yall. Give Justin our support and tell him there are thousands of diehard Star Wars fans backing him up.

And found an image!

I'm not a professional artist. I'm not really a professional anything, really. But I doodle here and there. I'll see if I can try and get a drawing done within the next couple days. If not, well, then I'll at least offer my condolences and internet hugs. Anything for a fellow Star Wars fan.

May the force be with you three.

[member=Fortuna] I wish you, [member=Ven] and her Uncle the very best for the times ahead, and I hope he finds it in him to never give up hope and always push a little harder - with your support and strength I know it's a much stronger situation for him.

Best wishes to you, and I look forward to seeing what talent can work with your request.

I saw this last night and would love to be able to contribute some form of art. I know the emotional rollercoaster of having a loved one suffer from cancer. There are some women in my family who developed breast cancer. Thankfully they all came through it alright. My great aunt developed a type of bone cancer a few years back (multiple myeloma) and they were unable to cure her. I was one of the few family members who couldn't even find the strength to go see her to say goodbye in person. To this day I regret not going and seeing her, even if it would have torn me up inside. Please pass on to your uncle to keep up the good fight. My thoughts are with you in this trying time. And remember, 'There is no death, only the Force.' But as a Jedi I am sure your uncle knows that well.

Just finished the rough sketch (meant to do it yesterday but didn't have time). I'm starting the revised version in a few minutes. After that I'll attempt an inked and colored version, but the latter is my weak spot, so no guarantees on it being all pretty. Hopefully I'll get those done by tomorrow night.
{I'll post pictures tomorrow regardless of progress}

I don't know either of you, I don't think, but my thoughts are with your Uncle. Tell him to stay strong and may the Force be with him.

I lost my grandma several years ago to cancer so I know the struggle of dealing with a family member having cancer. Stay strong and you'll all get through this.
