Character Idea/ Question

Can you create different identies of a character and use that Identify as a specific portion?

Example: Im a Sithlord but in another Identity im a bounty hunter but no one knows its that sithlord.

There the same character but their seperate at the some time, Like their for different role plays

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Yes, it's been done a few times. [member="Jacen Cavill"] and [member="Cade Lee "]for example are the same person, Sith Lord and Blas-Tech CEO alter-ego seemingly unconnected. HK has also done similar stunts if I'm not mistaken.

I am a Jedi Shadow. While my real person is [member="Xander Carrick"].

Yes you can. it's a form to avoid getting pictures and ideals mixed up between characters. So yes.
HOWEVER! You can not have them in the same thread as that would be considered Alt padding, and you are breaking some other rules like (Cant be in the same place as two different people)

Everyone in this thread thus far is correct, except with maybe [member="Onix"] . I'll explain:

You can, in IC threads. But only until it becomes offensive to another player and they report you. Then Staff will intervene and ask you not to, though this is hardly relevant because if you have multiple identities but only one character, he can't be in the same spot physically at two places, yadda yadda yadda.

We smile at imagination and creativity. We frown when another player becomes directly offended by the duplicity, and we will act if you are reported for it. It's certainly not a bannable/suspendable offense, if it was entirely by mistake, but we will get involved.

Though what Onix is referring to by mentioning "alt-padding" is likely in OOC threads. We ask that you only use one character per OOC thread to avoid confusion/alt-padding.

Alt-padding is defined by Staff as supporting your own opinion with a second character, or being generally duplicitous in nature OOC with a second (or more) account/character.

[member="Tefka"], I was meaning IC threads. If you are in an invasion thread and have one fighting a Sith Lord, and the other one fighting a different one, It's kind of going against the rules of life because both of you can't be there. (unless one is an illusion/Doppelganger) Then you really can't from my understanding.

Right, but this goes back to the whole being in two places at once with an identity/being reasonable/realistic.

If you were to say, be in an IC thread with a group of people with one character, and use a second account as your disguise when holo-calling the enemy, that's fine.

I've got a related question, if I may?

Do you have to inform people that the two 'characters' are the same one? To avoid metagame, I mean.

I.E If Bob wears a mask and Tom dosen't, but they're the same person, do I have to inform everyone oocly that Bob and Tom are the same character?
