- Loth-Wolf series Combat Scanner with SC-1 Hardened Comlink: This system provides Charnoq with its standard package of standard HUD display along with basic communication abilities. An open sensor slot in the Loth-Wolf has been plugged in with a Personal Combat Threat Analyzer. This threat analyzer acts as a basic combat advisor to the armor's user, providing inexperienced users with an understanding of their foes and their relative locations.
- Reinforced Collar: the Charnoq has significant reinforcement to the upper chest and neck areas with its armor plating, making it difficult for those areas to be successfully attacked. This was primarily included to decrease the risk of decapitation from melee attacks such as those from bladed weapons like swords or axes as well as from strangulation attacks for garrotes and other similar devices.
- Gauntlet Hardpoints: Charnoq has a hardpoint on either wrist that allows it to accept and integrate a wide variety of gauntlet or wrist weapons directly into the armor - weapons aren't commonly installed from the Factory itself in order to save on costs and speed up production. These hardpoints can also be left open, meaning that the user wear and use wrist weapons without having to integrate them through the armor's HUD system itself if they prefer. This is common for those who use unusual, nonstandard weapons like wrist rockets or whipcord launchers or if worn by droids with integrated weapons.
- Reinforced Knuckles: While most of the Charnoq's glove is made out of Defensa textile in order to give users good dexterity, the actual knuckles on the gloves are reinforced with thick pads of suprasteel, allowing them to be used much like classic brass knuckles as a simple but highly practical bludgeoning weapon in close-quarters combat.
- Micrel Power Supply with Micropanels: While Charnoq can be used without power, it needs a little bit of power to power up its Combat scanner, comlink and atmospheric processor. To that end, Charnoq has a small micrel power supply on its back along with a number micropanels which can continually provide power to the suit as long as it is near a light source, whether its a local sun or artificial lighting. With solar power, the micrel power supply can usually supply power for the armor's systems for up to eight hours of continuous, normal use.
- Basic Environmental Protection: Like many common battle armors such as stormtrooper armor, Charnoq provides limited protection from hostile environments. Each suit is vacuum proof and provides some insulation through the use of its Defensa body glove. Charnoq armor also incorporates air filtering through an atmosphere processor as well as a 60 minute atmosphere supply, allowing troopers to operate for a limited time in hazardous atmospheres or in a complete lack of breathable atmosphere.
- Integrated Webbing: Charnoq comes with a chest harness and belt that allows some equipment and tactical pouches to be directly attached to the suit. These are typically used to store ammunition, medkits, and other basic items used by soldiers and other adventurers.
- Kinetic Fortitude: Charnoq provides its users with excellent protection from kinetic weapons, whether its a sharp warblade or a powerful railgun, thanks to its thick suprasteel plating and the antiballistic properties of its Defensa Textile base.
- Energy Fortitude: Charnoq provides its users with excellent protection from blasters and other energy weapons, whether it is a simple holdout blaster or a powerful disruptor rifle, thanks to its thick suprasteel plating and the armorweave and energy-eating microbes found within its Defensa Textile base.
- Radiation Fortitude: Dense Suprasteel plating provides good radiation shielding from many threats, though overall the armor's protection against this threat is somewhat hampered in that sections of the armor are only protected by Defensa textile, which does not provide significant protection from radiation.
- Heavy: Charnoq is a very heavy suit of armor due to the use of its thick, suprasteel armor plating. Since it is not power armor, most users find it very tiring to wear for extended periods of time unless they are in excellent physical condition, come from high gravity worlds, or if their species is unusually strong in general, such as with wookiees.
- Weak Points: Most of the joint areas are only protected by several layers of Defensa textile, which makes these areas more vulnerable to attacks in general.
- Low Resistance (Sonic Weapons): Charnoq was not designed with any protection from sonic weaponry aside from basic audio dampeners in the helmet. Sonic attacks frequently can pass through the Defensa textile areas unhindered while sound is often easily conducted and reverberates within the suprasteel armor plates that provide most of the suit's protection.
While Lucerne Personal Defense has largely concentrated on power armor development in recent times, it also became clear that it would not be possible to equip every soldier with state of the art armor due to costs and simple construction time. With the rapid Bryn'adul advance towards the Core, Lucerne Personal Defense devised a relatively simple set of heavy battle armor that would be optimized for mass production in large numbers to equip waves of new recruits being raised on the Silver Jedi Concord's Core Worlds and the almost countless number of synthetic soldiers being produced by Lucerne Labs. To that end, the resulting Charnoq design can be seen as a vast simplification of the earlier Anakkona Heavy Battle Armor. The Charnoq uses simpler materials in thicker quantities, simpler lines, and is much less technology intensive and modular than its predecessor. Yet but using the thick and dense materials, the Charnoq is much more durable (and heavier) than its predecessors. With the addition of reinforced knuckles and additional protection for the neck, the Charnoq is much more well suited for the intense, brutal close-quarters combat that has become characteristic of the Concord's fighting with the Bryn'adul. Charnoq has been thrown into mass production with the continued threat of the Bryn'adul. Thousands of suits come off the production lines in hours, and within a day or so, most suits find themselves being issued out to Concord soldiers as they ready themselves to fight the genociadal threat of the Bryn'adul. The Charnoq is frequently issued to the new Ajax-series Synthetic Soldiers due to their strength and ability to simply fire their onboard weaponry through the gauntlet hardpoints without significant modifications.
