The Chase Fighting Fan is a more advanced version of the Chase Folding Fan designed with certain force sensitive associates of Damian Starchaser in mind. Brylark wood frame and the purest of Shell Spider Silk was woven with cortosis weave in order to create an alluring diaphanous fan reinforced with a dye derived from the norris root it is capable of blocking a blow from a lightsaber and deflecting bolts from a blaster. This functionality was deemed necessary for protecting the associates of Damian Starchaser when dealing with the threat of the Sith or other lightsaber wielding opponents.
Because of the metal hard brylark wood the weapon is able to be used to parry and strike even when fully extended allowing the user a wider range of attacks and defensive actions in a fight. These qualities of the wood also means that it hit's harder than the previous model although suffers from the same short reach. Getting hit by a hard wood is worse than a soft wood and a wood emulating a hardened metal is even worse still.
Although the Chase Folding Fan is unisex in nature the fighting fan has a distinctly feminine appearance with a soft pattern and exotic cloth exterior designed to be as much a fashion statement as a useful weapon. The fabrics partially translucent nature means that a larger field of view is provided when fighting with it, however the actual advantage of this over the more mass produced model is marginal. The fabric is capable of stretching when hit by a blunt or bladed force lessening the impact and preventing the weapon from tearing through and perhaps allowing the user to entangle a weapon within the leaf and runners.
Damian Starchaser gifted one of these fans to Joza Perl and each of her daughters.
Delicate but deadly the Chase Fighting Fan is an easily concealable weapon as it is small and none of the components register as a weapon. This fan is available to close Chase Associates through the Chase Marketplace.
