Lunar fragments from the moon Ashla were obtained by Ishani Dinn, who participated in one of the Battles for Tython (she doesn't remember which). After spending several years collecting dust in storage at the Dinn family home on Eliad, they were rediscovered by Ishani's young son Marcus. He also didn't know what the hell to do with these very Light Sided artifacts, so he shoved them in a box and forgot about them. More time passed, and a teenaged Marcus went looking for materials to work with in his alchemical smithy. The fragments immediately jumped out at him. He only partially bled the fragments, giving them their signature purple color and a less blatantly-evil and more subtly-malicious aura. Noticing the beauty of their appearance, he would ultimately shape them into a necklace to be given as a gift to a fellow acolyte who had saved his skin more than once:
