- Integrated biometric authentication-based access control system which only allows Chassella to activate and wield the lightsabers.
- Features a Tràkata Switch which allows for immediate activation and deactivation of the blade, for use in Tràkata techniques.
- Utilizes Non-Dimetris Circuitry in the activation loop that renders the lightsaber largely immune to the effects of cortosis.
- Incorporated Tracking Dust, allows for tracking in the event that the lightsabers are lost or stolen.
- Cutting Power: In utilizing a Lignan crystal and an Adegan lens, Chassella’s lightsabers burn at a far higher temperatures (50000°C) than typical lightsabers (8000 to 25000°C), and as such, are potentially capable of rapidly cutting through normally lightsaber-resistant materials, such as neuranium, phrik, beskar, and similar super-dense exotic materials. Their high running temperatures may also tax energy shields at faster rates than normal, but they are still countered by Xythan Force and similar kinds of reflective shield types.
- Cortosis: Chassella’s lightsabers are resistant to the effects of cortosis, due to the usage of non-dimetris circuitry.
- Blaster Bolt Deflection: While the lightsabers’ slender blades further bolster their potential cutting power, they are not reliable for blaster bolt deflection under any circumstances due to the extreme thinness of the blade, even when wielded by a Form V specialist.
- Ysalamir and Void Stone: Lignan crystals, while powerful in the dark side of the Force, derive much of their power from that source. As such, when within the Force-nullifying bubble of Ysalamir, the lightsabers’ extreme cutting power will be reduced to that of a training lightsaber. When in close proximity to Void Stone, the lightsabers will experience a similar, but more limited variation of this effect depending upon the quantity and proximity of the material to the lightsabers.
- Power Cell Replacement: The overcharging of the blades’ diatium power cell entirely nullifies diatium’s natural recharging capabilities. As such, after roughly five minutes of activation, the power cells are almost always completely burned out and must be replaced. Whereas other lightsabers can utilize their power cells indefinitely, Chassella must frequently swap hers out in order to maintain normal operation.
- Weight: Although intended to be utilized by an NFU, the feather-light weight of the lightsabers’ can in some cases, make them more dangerous to the wielder than to their target, especially if the wielder lacks Force-sensitivity and/or considerable skill in swordsmanship. As such, the lightsabers require a great deal of skill and practice before they can be utilized to a degree of effectiveness in combat.
- Reach: Like all shoto lightsabers, Chassella’s lightsabers’ lack reach, leaving the wielder at a disadvantage in most forms of melee combat within an open space.
- Underwater and Rain: While Chassella’s lightsabers retain good operational stability in favorable environmental conditions, the sabers are completely nonfunctional underwater. In addition, they are also nonfunctional in heavy rain and will frequently short out during light rain, making them largely impractical for use under those conditions.
- Force Signature: Due to the usage of a Lignan crystal, the lightsabers emanate a very powerful dark side signature in the Force which makes their presence very easy to detect for Force-sensitive individuals.
- Sound Signature: In spite of their relatively small size, the shoto lightsabers’ overcharged diatium power cells produce much louder activation and passive running sounds than typical lightsabers, making their activation relatively easy to process for anyone with even below-average hearing.
Created before her formal induction into the Eight Arrows Sect, Chassella’s lightsabers were crafted within the Dark Forge, then given to her after she took her vows and became a full disciple of the Eight Arrows Sect. Although built for a wielder who lacks useful sensitivity to the Force, the lightsabers nonetheless utilize Lignan crystals which are very strong in the dark side of the Force. Due to the implementation of these crystals, the lightsabers are optimized to run at higher-than-average temperatures, and as such, enjoy significantly augmented cutting power to the point where they are potentially capable of quickly cutting through normally lightsaber-resistant materials, such as neuranium, phrik, beskar, and similar super-dense exotic materials. However, the lightsabers come with a host of drawbacks which render them nigh-useless under certain conditions, including within rain and Ysalamiri Force-nullifying bubbles. For that reason, they are not all-purpose weapons and Chassella will typically carry other weapons to compensate for their deficiencies under the aforementioned conditions. Nevertheless, the lightsabers remain very deadly implements in most circumstances and are rarely poor choices for a given situation.
