ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Room to Spare
    • Deploys a large number of starfighters, which can provide an excellent screen for a fleet or escorts for single ships
  • Cost Effective
    • Able to cut down on traditional operational costs by using repulsor technology, Shepherd carriers are cheaper to produce than the industry standard
  • PD
    • A decent amount of point defense weapons onboard this carrier help fend off aggressive starships and dangerous missiles
WEAKNESSES
  • Personal Defenses
    • The CHC-141 is seriously lacking in damage output for a ship of its class. Undersized turbolasers and not much else, Shepherd cruisers struggle without assistance from their fighter wings or allied ships
  • Ez Read
    • The cycled hangers are exposed from the main body of the ship, they make for obvious targets
  • Gimmick
    • Fighter hanger deployments rely on the active repulsor field, should it be deactivated, Shepherd carriers have no way of deploying or receiving ships
DESCRIPTION

With unique hanger deployment methods, the CHC-141 is Treatech's premier carrier. Cheaper than usual, with the ability to field large numbers of fighters without compromising the speed or durability of the ship, the Shepherd carrier is an excellent choice for fleets looking for a dedicated carrier to fill out their ranks. While not sufficiently armed to perform the role of a capital ship in larger fleets, for smaller groups a single Shepherd carrier would make an imposing figurehead due to its ability to smother opposition in fighters.
