Chi Chuchi
Seeking Something
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
A set of summer and traveling clothes designed for Persephone Dashiell by Chi Chuchi after the teenager scheduled a consultation with the designer aboard Huila Station. The teen had several wishes including being able to express herself while being stylish and confident as well as the ability to add her own flair.
First was a light sundress that came to just over her knees, white in color and with a lined two-layer skirt and a micro fringe along the edge. It pairs easily with a light denim jacket and sandals or slip-ons of Persephone’s choice.
Her second dress is an A-line with thin straps covered with a thousand tiny white hearts across a field of lilac blue. A more simple affair, but light and flirty, perfect for a fun day out and easy to accessorize with light jewelry and loose shirts or warmer tops.
Chi also made her a set of traveling clothes, prioritizing comfort and inconspicuousness over flair. This outfit consists of a tan colored cavalry breeches that tuck into black faux-leather boots with magnetic soles and matching belt. For tops Persephone has a choice of a cream white, lilac, or burgundy button down, and a fleece lined bomber style jacket or the spacer’s poncho.
A hooded poncho was one of Chi’s own additions to the assorted clothes as it was part of a traveling outfit in her mind. While rain is rarely found in space, stations regularly drip condensation and all sorts of liquids get splashed around dockside, best to have something keeping one’s clothing looking neat. It’s larger than Persephone needs and made from a waxed canvas outer shell with a munnyak-wool lining. Hidden between the two are layers of kaldr. Inside there are three hidden pockets lined with baffleweave, two on either side of the opening along her rib cage, and a third one in the small of her back.
For her brother’s wedding, Persephone received a white tux lined in black pantora-silk with black lapels, bowtie, and pocket square as well as the traditional pleated button down and a black pantora-silk vest.
Ever aware of how tempting a target a young heiress can be, Chi made every outfit either out of kaldrweave or with a hidden lining of the protective material without telling Persephone. The cloth is nice enough while rather comfortable for the thinner outfits where it must stand alone, and light enough to act as lining or be sandwiched into a jacket. Chi’s reasoning for keeping the armoring secret was two-fold, a secret shared is no secret, and if Persephone did not know of it she wouldn’t be tempted to put it to the test. Should the girl ever find herself under fire, most blasters will still knock her about but she’ll escape the worst of it. Ballistics and blades will find penetrating her protection incredibly difficult, but with no padding or impact spread other than what a heavy jacket or poncho may provide, Persephone could suffer from bruising, welts, broken skin, and possibly fractures. Considering their expense and that the young teen likely still had considerable growing to do, most of the outfits were made to be let out by any qualified tailor to grow with her and Chi herself would be happy to remake them should the two ever meet again.
