It was at best a somewhat unconventional meet as it was one riddled with much turmoil of many firsts for both involved. Nonetheless, things seem to but slowly but surely near the point in time. Where the two began to slowly find each other footing in the greater scheme of things as both began to settle in the company of each other. AS slowly but surely Ty not only allowed to her move a bit more freely in the ship. But also affording for her when time permitted a gradual inclusion into participation as much imparting to her training as much skill. That would gain her a few tentative steps not only to stand beside but hold her own beside him when the time came.

Unlike the other who came before her Ty no less found much in her that seemed to draw him in. Not only to tolerate as much find something about her he'd seem could not yet fully understand. Or grasp for having only known loss or betrayal in the past which no less fuels temper coupled with ruthlessness. That for the most part locked or isolated him for so long that. It was a bit of adjustment for him as it was a new challenge that seemed faintly had not lost on those who knew him. To a point just a few nights past he'd become embroiled in end a few unexpected skirmishes. Where an unfavorable glance at a comment about her set him off but thankfully because of his status as much reputation was quickly put to rest....and yet it seems to put a bit of strain on him of late. That he opted to retire from his training room for a time...

Her life had been unconventional before, and it remained that way. However, she was more settled now than she had ever been. While getting comfortable with this new situation, Duma hoped her rescuer was also.

As time passed, Ty eventually allowed her more freedom. She never invaded his privacy, and if his door was closed, she knew not to bother him. This happened less and less, and maybe a time would come when he didn't feel the need to keep her out.

One thing that happened that she had not been trying to do was soften him. It wasn't that he really got softer, but he treated her less harshly. His training might be seen as brutal, but that was just his way and manner. No real or permanent harm came to the former slave. Her abilities gained power, and he started taking her along on some of his missions.

On the rare occasions somebody commented about her, they soon regretted saying anything. Noticing a change in him, Duma decided to try to make him less stressed. Making dinner, she waited in his mess for the smell to entice him to join her.

In the private confine of the room alone, Ty sat in silent meditation or so it seemed from the outside. Thought from within burned a fiery raging battle from which he'd not know or had since or in memories past. But then again, it seems for one such as him. It was neither easy as much as it was known for either calm or peace. That, however much he felt himself to be beyond having any bit of humanity in him left, being as cold-hearted as much ruthless as they come, that never once he thought himself to be caught in such a predicament. Where despite the taunting as much the deep seething rage the darkness within got. His view was as much tolerance of another being so close as she was having Duma. Was slowly appearing to influence him for as hard as he'd tried to maintain the distance or wall between them. That it to seem slowly waver if not secretly for despite his misgivings or doubts… that day would come. Much like the other for the betrayal that soon follows in the wake of his show any acceptance of another…after such a long time of isolation,

But then slowly but surely the two settled into an unspoken understanding as much growing trust. That it emboldened as much made him that more determined. To make good on his promise to train as much as impart to her much what he could. To prepare and hone the skill that Duma had slowly gotten up reasonable level. Perhaps he could have been a bit demanding as much harsh to her in their training session. Though. thankfully not past the point that it would have done her any lasting harm. In the end, though seems without even trying, Duma had all but slowly gained his trust to a degree. Although he would not admit it himself or show any outward sign of this to her.

But then again in time, his concentration seems slightly waver as sound from outside the door. Along with the faint scent of a cooked meal slip through that despite some initial hesitation to resist the urge. He eventually relented as then stood. Make his way to where she was. And silently sat…. still feel uneasy as much unsure of how best to proceed. Not having been one used to get accustomed to changes in his way….

While he had made it clear he was not her owner, Duma sometimes relapsed into her old manners. Even though she was slowly gaining self-confidence, she lowered her eyes as he joined her in the mess. Two plates sat ready to be filled with food.

Getting a little brave, she looked up shyly and, with the Force, picked up one of the plates. This was a sign of her developing skills within the Force, ones she had honed with the help of Ty. She silently hoped he wasn't going to react negatively and strike the food out of the air.

Once she had filled the plates with dinner, she set them back on the table and sat down.

"Please join me. I look forward to hearing what you think of this food."

A person couldn't survive without eating, and it seemed to Duma that he thought he could. At times, when she felt he was starving, she fed him. He might not have noticed this as he often focused on his thoughts and concerns. Some of them he would share with her, but most often, he kept her at a distance. This was most likely because of what happened to him and how he was. She did not take offense at this and just accepted it as who he was.

It was somewhat out of character for those who knew of or had on the rare occurrence crossed Ty's path. As the case, he would be quite unpredictable, as much was unapologetically unforgiving. Building for himself quite a forebode and notorious reputation of being ruthless as much, he was cold and calculated in everything he did. Never one cared or gave any afterthought about what he did. But unbeknownst to Duma...

He would seem to be quite civil and, to some level, appear to be reserved, although still plagued by feeling lost. Parts of him felt an unwavering possessive attachment to the past while another only saw the selfish promise of molding Duma to be part of his dark legacy. That as he was so shall she be... free from the restraints such trifle ideal that others or most society would deem far or just, All the while his gaze seems never to waver away from Duma the whole time. Notice how, for a moment, she seems to slip back and appears to need to be reminded. But then again, just like that, she appears he be slowly retreating from it. Show a bit of confidence as much as a strong, determined will. They meet his gaze halfway while demonstrating to him some of the progress they seem to have made. During their recent training session were with new found grasp and command of the force.

She could coordinate and place the plates on the table. Which secretly quite impressed him same time. Slightly chip away at his cold exterior as his desire for her seems to waver. But then again having given his word coupled with the lingering painful memories from his past. All but force him to push those thoughts aside and instead hear her words reply.

"Very well ... "

He then cut his words short as fear, letting himself lulled into giving in. Let anymore the wall and distance he built around protect himself lose whatever he'd gain. Or so he thought. Fear of guarding his true self against her ever finding out was vital. In keeping the illusion alive as if she did...find out what kind of monster he saw himself to be. That she, much like the rest, would be horrified as much as accepting of him. Now more than ever, he could not resist the alternative to what he had now.

The former slave was delighted at Ty's reaction. Her growth with the Force was due to his training. She could almost sense what he was feeling. This might be due to her old life as a slave when she needed to know how to read a person. It was something that came naturally to her, and she didn't think anything about it.

Giving him a smile as she took a seat, Duma motioned to his plate.

"What do you think?"

Some days, Ty would talk her ear off, but most of the time, he was silent and broody. Today, maybe she could get him to talk to her, and they could continue with her lessons.

It was an uneasy situation, to say the least, that Ty appeared to have gotten himself into. For what feels like the first time in a long while, there was a noticeable sense of being irresistibly drawn towards something or someone, as much as one could allow oneself to feel. Nobody had ever encountered someone like him, and it was a privilege to be included in his inner circle. Going as far as allowing Duma behind the curtain of secrecy and high walls he'd built around himself. The unpredictability of this occurrence was evident in its initial infrequency.

The irony of the situation appears to be going over his head. That one such himself. In her presence, have been careful to maintain both caution and civility. As he sat across the table, he found himself stealing glances, a mix of confusion and a subtle sense of comfort evident in his expression due to Duma's presence. However, the adjustment had been somewhat something that was at best a work in progress. For on some occasions, he would find himself seem just faintly at ease. Just have someone else talk and be with that, he'd have a full-on conversation with her. While on others it is quite the opposite, as he'd sworn off even uttering one word, let alone being quite distant from her. And yet, having posed the question to him, Ty glanced over to pick up a morsel of food. He then began tentatively eating till eventually shifting gears. As he began to enjoy the meal, she'd prepared as being some of a welcome change. From having nothing but dried ration for years on end. That he sort of grew sick off and gone days of being used to barely eating at all.

So far, her attempt to get Ty to speak has been failing. Oh well, Duma accepted this and was just thankful for his company. The way he went after the food she made was pretty much all the answer she needed, and she dug in after he did.

Her hair fell to hide the side of her face for a moment, but she flipped it back into place after eating a bite of the food. Looking at Ty, she wondered for a second what he was thinking. Then she remembered he had told her to speak her mind when it was just the two of them together.

"What are you thinking?"

Her hazel eyes met his, and for a heartbeat, the former slave considered looking away. Instead, she took another bite of food and chewed it silently while waiting for his answer.

Acting dismissively towards Duma would give off an impression of rudeness and cruelty, suggesting that Ty is inconsiderate. Despite all the hard work and effort she'd done, tend him as much, being quite accepting of his rule and training that he'd imparted thus far. But then again, it was still quite the adjustment for him, even an attempt to let his guard down. And it was not because of lack of trying for as much part as he wanted to deny it. Ty seems to slowly grow fond of her but lacks the means to express himself openly or truthfully to anyone up to that time. For living the life he had and believing power as much as fear was all that mattered. Ty seemed to feel at a loss if but a moment was near, having his fill of the food and noting her question. Let out a faint sigh as slowly lowered his plate.

"... guess how things would have been...and why, despite everything, you still..."

He paused to catch himself mid-way and reach over to brush the hair off her face. But at the last moment pulls back. Meeting her gaze with his... as seem sadden with thought as much the certainty she'd look away. Much like the other ...

When Ty didn't answer at first, she realized he wasn't being rude. This was just how the man was, and Duma could either accept that about him or try to survive on her own. If she chose the second option, she wasn't sure he would let her go easily. The former slave would bide her time, learn from him, and maybe leave. It was all up in the air, and she would stay as long as he continued not to hurt or harm her.

Looking at him as he brushed the hair out of her face, she smiled. He broke his silence and started to answer the question she had posed.

"I still what?"

Her eyes still met his, and she set her silverware down to show she wanted to know his answer.

Ty looked into Duma's eyes, his expression softening as he listened to her words. He understood the weight of her burden, the curse that had plagued her existence. But despite all that, he couldn't deny the connection he felt towards her. It was a mix of attraction, fascination, and a deep desire to protect her from the darkness that consumed her. The incident from a few nights ago had shaken him, but it also made him realize how fiercely he cared for her.

"Stay when I know few would... as know all too well what most think ill of me. And that however much or what do...there seems to be no escape the curse. That which I am mark... the endless cycle of fear, death, and hate is all that I have left... that fear monster I've become...and that of the incident of few nights past... makes me question if you might have a second doubt about all this..."

He aspired to be the one who could bring light into her life, to show her that there was more than just fear, death, and hate. With a gentle smile, Ty reached out and took Duma's hand in his.

"Duma, I won't pretend to fully understand what you've been through, but I know that there is more to you than …that despite … see the strength in your spirit. And as for the incident, it only made me realize how much I want to protect you, how much I …. I won't let doubt or fear come between us… no matter what others may think. Together I hope to break free from this curse and create a destiny of our own."

Not allowing food to get in the way of their conversation, Duma pushed the plate away from her and to the side. As a woman, all she had known were pleasures of the flesh, and she had never really gotten emotionally close to anybody. When Ty reached for her hand, she placed it within his and felt his words deep within her soul. They pierced her heart and drove in deep.

"I have lived a horrible life, Ty-Ohni. Whatever has been done to me in the past, I have learned from it. Together, we will build a new future and create that destiny we both want."

The former slave started to fall back on old behavior and used his own words. While this was nothing intentional on her part, it was something he might have to break her from doing. It would take work from both of them to take the slave out of her and turn her into her person.

"With you, I am safe and secure."

Returning his smile with one of her own, he would feel the honesty in her feelings.

And with that said Ty, if but a moment appeared a bit at a loss. For but a brief moment it seemed the well-crafted facade and wall he'd built around himself. Appear to but faintly waver as if for the first time he found himself speaking openly. That which was in his mind...thought it felt strangely familiar at the same time foreign to him. Who for the longest time had all but been fiercely guarded as much secretively. Rule by mixed fear as much seems unwavering cynicism that he'd all but never let his guard down with anyone. Having all but felt the sting of betrayal and the hard lesson it left behind.

That made trust as much truth as all but repulsive to his extent. However, with her, it became that more challenging topic to deal with... for as seemed self-evident in his actions of late. Despite allowing her to be free.... he could not help but fall back. Between the conflicting side of being stubborn to fault, bent on controlling and giving no care of anyone or anything in the past. But then again, this time seems not so, which kinda causes him to grow still and quiet.
