  • Passive Sound Dampers
  • Fractal-Pattern coating (optional)
Strengths:
  • Versatile armor, with equipment options and mission-specific load-outs being easily adjusted.
  • Vacuum sealed, environmentally protected, able to self-seal to prevent protection loss.
  • Servo-Enhanced Articulators assist with improved speed and strength, allowing for peak humanoid performance in relation to the wearer.
  • Able to run near-silent, due to passive sound dampers throughout suit.
Weaknesses:
  • Low resistance to lightsabers and vibro-weapons.
  • Damage to servo-enhancers will result in performance improvement ceasing, and wearer being slower than typical medium armor users due to higher weight.
  • Vulnerable to sustained heavy blaster fire.
  • Vulnerable to corrosive damage.
  • Vulnerable to damage in joints of armor.

DESCRIPTION
The CCU-01a is specialized armor designed from the ground up to serve as a versatile, medium-type, military-grade armament. The inclusion of some additional weight, such as the armored demolition pack, means this armor is on the heavier end of the medium armor spectrum; and without servo-enhancement, wearers will be mildly slower than more typical medium armored opponents.

The systems included in the helmet allow for an array of operative information, which requires specific training to utilize fully. The weapon load-out is adaptable, allowing for Chiss Commandos to equip gear as required, or to fulfill specialist roles in a squad. The armor itself blends a balanced mixture of stealth capability with protection to more common weapon types in galactic circulation; however, to further assist with the former, numerous passive sound dampers have been placed strategically throughout the armor, to better remain near-silent, even at increased movement speeds.

Wanting to provide as many advantages as possible, but while maintaining a need for quick and silent action, the Chiss technicians opted for segmented servo-enhancers placed primarily within limb plating, which gives increased strength and speed - roughly equivalent to peak physical performance, relative to humanoid size and shape.

In order to deal with a range of environment extremes and changes, the armor boasts a fully sealed thinsuit layer, as well as the ability to self-seal with foam. Additionally, the helmet of each Commando offers a range of systems for allowing regular breathing, even in toxic or no oxygen situations. The internal oxygen supply allows for up to thirty minutes of air.

Each Commando has the option to utilize an Armored Demolition Pack or a flight pack. The demo pack is an upgraded form of the original demolition satchel, and has several systems in place that allow improved operation efficiency, and are engineered to compliment a Commando's tasks. The pack provides an automated tracking arm, which can switch between infrared targeting lasers for improved firing solutions in conjunction with the HUD; it can also activate a searchlight, a strobe light, and serves as a secure armored housing for delicate items or equipment - such as vape charges.

Finally, Chiss Commandos can utilize the specialized fractal-pattern coating on their armor; they are the only division of the CEDF that has access to this coating.

[member="Thorne"], this looks pretty well thought out.

I do think though that the inclusion of so much equipment(especially some of the larger things like an armored bomb bag) would make this weigh more than most medium armors. I'd like to see that reflected in the weight section.

Now, this weight increase will probably largely offset by the inclusion of the servo-actuators. With that though, I'd like to see the weakness referencing the servo-actuators stating that if they are damaged, they would move a bit slower than most people in average medium armor (since it's their armor is heavier).

Waist: ....Anti-Corrosive Spray

Tell me a little bit more about this. I'm especially curious about its inclusion because of the suit's low resistance to corrosion.

Adjusted weight rating.

Added the following to the first paragraph:

The spray is intended as a protective accessory, which would be situational - such as acid rain on Vjun. The Commando would spray quickly, and have some limited protection against the elements for a short period of time.

In relation to corrosive ammunition or weapons, the spray would be reactive to damage received. It might be able to stop standard acid compounds from spreading on the impact area... but that's assuming the Commando has survived the wound suffered also. The higher grade stuff, which eats metal for breakfast, lunch and dinner, would likely only be slowed in effect.

So with weapon damage, it's effectively a band-aid solution to what should be a surgical procedure, and damage or injury done by corrosives is done - the spray would look at stopping it getting worse.

And while it could be applied prior to battle, it's still a spray. It's not a dedicated corrosive coating for armor, so the effectiveness wouldn't be comparable at all. Like mentioned, the intention is largely environmental or reactive.

If you'll please change this to specify that not only is the performance improvement is ceasing, but that the user is actually slower than a normal person running around in average medium armor.

Otherwise, this really isn't a weakness: If something is damaged, it typically doesn't work.
