- Long-Range Heavy Hitter: The Cimrab dedicates a large amount of its power supply to a large number of spectrum lasers and energy torpedo launchers, both of which are well-known for their excellent range. It's not uncommon for Cimrab to heavily damage enemy vessels before they are able to bring their own weapons to bear on the Cimrab.
- Advanced Engines: While the Cimrab has fairly typical speed and maneuverability for a ship its size, the inclusion of both Nimble-5 Ion Engines and the Gulfstream Maneuvering System allow it to better change its flight characteristics to better match certain situations.
- Fewer Small Craft: The Cimrab emphasizes having more weapons than hangars compared to its average contemporary, leading to it carrying fewer starfighters and small craft than its average peer.
- Light Shielding: Most of the Cimrab's energy is dedicated to running the large number of energy weapons found across the ship, which in turn leads to a smaller amount of energy being available for the ship's shields.
The Cimrab-class Heavy Cruiser was designed from the keel-up on the principle that the first one to get a knockout punch wins the battle. To that end, the Cimrab's hull is dedicated to carrying a large number of long-range energy weapons spread out equidistantly across the hull. This ensures that it bring large amounts of firepower to bear from almost any fire arc. Massive Scythe-class Spectrum Lasers can combine multiple beams to make devastating composite lasers that can quickly bore through large ships or sweep across the battlefield individual to scythe through many smaller craft. Simultaneously, the Cimrab can unleash dozens of exotic plasma energy torpedoes which can transverse the void at a mere fraction of the speed of light. Consequently, Cimrabs often appear to be the center of dazzling if deadly displays of light on the battlefield, but their high firepower has led to deficiencies in their shielding and number of carried small craft. However, a skillful commander can take advantage of the ship's flexible flight performance to help minimize these liabilities.
