The COW-2 was designed on request by AECO teams, who wanted something less noticeable than standard blaster pistols, what with their tendency to make louder noises and stand out, especially in the dark where things aren't usually glowing. Taking this request to heart, Barabian Systems began work on the Clandestine Operation Weapon, Mark 2.
The COW-2 is a short recoil-operated locked breech slugthrower pistol, made with furnished Durasteel along with added Duralium to reduce production costs and make a weapon that was easier for a user to feel and handle. A universal rail system was included in front of the trigger guard to allow for attachments such as tactical lights and laser pointers, and includes an ambidextrous slide lock and magazine release installed in the trigger guard, designed for all sorts of digits from all kinds of species.
