Clarification

So I need some feedback on a few things. I'm under the impression that certain Ranks can learn certain abilities. To further enhance my character I've been peeking around Wookieepedia and found a few DS powers I would like to incorporate for my Character.

Also, I've heard mixed reviews about the cannon powers such as Force Choke and Sith Lightning. In other words, these powers are only available to Ranks of Knight and Lords. Is this true? I'm aware if she can learn this ability as an Acolyte it would not be powerful as the higher Ranks use and also, that it may not always be successful or have the desired effect. But you know, practice makes perfect.


Now to some powers I'm curious if my Acolyte level Character can use these:


1. Taint


2. Deadly Sight

Now...my awesome Master is busy and not to weigh her down with everything, if #1 and #2 can be learned by my character....can someone teach them to her?

Taint would be something that would be most possible with the Knight rank, which I believe you're close to achieving, so I would go as far to even start learning it now so that you may use it. Think of it as learning a martial art in this instance. You may certainly know how to do the move and the techniques in a novice manner, but you will lack the strength and willpower to sustain a move. It'd be like throwing a roundhouse kick without much strength.

Deadly Sight is a much more touchy subject and I wouldn't even consider trying to train for that until you are a "high" Knight or Sith Lord.

Given the small amount of information in Mind Shard's profile, I'd follow the same steps of advice that I offered regarding Taint. Most typical Force powers that are "cool" are most often able to be utilized by Knights and Masters. Thinning your skillset is one way to emphasize mastery over things as well. For instance, Mordecai is really only good at Telekinesis, Pyrokinesis, and Sith Alchemy when it comes to powers. However, he makes up for his lack of variety in his swordsmanship abilities.

Do a little tinkering around with her combat parameters and decide what you'd like to do. From what I'm seeing, she's a sorceress/witch type and would use epic spells, powers and the like.

Coordinate a little with [member="Matsu Xiangu"] if possible and get the stories rollin'!

I dont think you will find a Offical list, I only said there were banned powers because in the Order of the Grey they have these 3 as No No's

Deadly Sight

Combust

Again that was in their Faction page and only on their faction page. I know there have been only 2 Characters on Chaos who have used Force Storm.. But they died in the Process. Deadly Sight Idk that one ive never seen used and Combust ive seen that used on lots of stuff.. Ex: Walls, Weapons etc.

May be best to ask a RP Judge about it.

For deadly sight the best user was Jacen Cavill but he trained one or two others in its use. One is a knight in the fringe the other I believe be laserfaced in a duel.

Taint is a little easier but you want to be knight to start really trying it out. start small and build yourself up on your skills.
