Clash of the Titans

Planet: Vylmira
Location: The Great Temple
Time: 0900

Eli had recently been training a great deal more on her own than she had been with her master, this could mean one of several things but from what she was told it was that this point in an apprentices training they must learn to walk on their own two feet so to speak. So for the past few months the small redhead had spent much of her time here on Vylmira for it was the place where her training had begun as well as it had almost everything that a force sensitive could want. She spent much of her time either meditating on the force or in one of the many training halls that the temple had to offer.

On this particular morning the small redhead had decided it would be a good idea to get in some training with not only her sabers but also continue to grow her familiarity with her battle armor. As her baby blue eyes fluttered open the small girl rolled out of bed immediately, she knew that staying in bed would do nothing for her but make her more tired. From there she gently padded across the floor of her quarters to her dresser. She then looked into the mirror and every time she did this it surprised her more and more with how far she had come from the small frail girl that had left the confines of her parents starship looking to make her way in the galaxy. Her eyes wandered down the mirror, they stopped upon her well developed porcelain washboard abs. This was among the biggest changes that the small girl had experienced, she went from having very few muscles to having quite a few as a result of her strenuous training under her master. She saw her new found muscles as a symbol of what she had become a strong force user.

After staring into the mirror for a moment the small redhead grabbed a tight fitting black shirt and some leggings. Normally she kept her armor in her quarters but recently she had been using the space for meditation and didn't like to feel cramped, so she had been keeping it just down the hall in the armory. She would also slip into some sneakers before opening the door and stepping out into the hallway. Eli-Mae was naturally graceful yet strong, and you could definitely tell it by the way she walked. Her strides confident her chest held high yet it appeared as if she were almost dancing, her steps made no noise upon the marble flooring.

Having reached the armory the girls small hand made contact with the door and having verified her identity the door opened. Inside was a large assortment of weapons, mostly blasters and slug throwers but also a few jedi weapons. However what Eli had come for was stored behind a locked door on the far side of the room. The girl made her way over to it and once more placed her hand upon the door and it opened for her.

Inside was the most beautiful thing Eli had ever seen, her own battle armor. It was made for her using the best materials and software available, it had a great number of features but the one that Eli used most was tactical advisement as well as enhanced speed and strength via an exoskeleton built in.

The small redhead would slip out of her shoes and hit a button on the armor and it would go slack allowing her to put it on before she hit the button again and it would shrink to fit her body extremely well.

As soon as she was in the armor minus the helmet the small girl would grab her two sabers and clip them to her belt before making her way to the training hall.

Once there she would begin to go through her traditional routine mixing forms III IV and V equally.

Vylmira. Scherezade hadn't wanted to go there. Had begged the Minister of Secrets to at least attach her mission to there to something else so that she would at least have some sort of fun. But no. Her orders were simple; go to the great temple there, hand over a package, and fly back to Geonosis on the same day.

The Great Temple of Vylmira was situated hands deep in the middle of the Force Nexus that was present on the planet as well. Scherezade had learned not too recently that she was not a fan of these nexuses. Whereas many used them for added power, she'd come to the firm conclusion that whether they were dark, light, or neutral, the best thing one could do with a nexus was find a way to seal the rift and bury them under as many layers as possible.

Still, she did her job. That was what everything was about these days, wasn't it? Get orders, go do the thing, get back home. Sometimes go for a run with your pet Loth wolf. Everything beneath her skin tickled for a change, but she had nothing to direct it at. It was maddening.

She was content to make her way back to her ship and from there fly to Geonosis, but as she passed by the training halls, something caught her attention. It was not sight or sound, for she was too far from the doors to catch either, but it was… She knew that feeling.

Sighing, Scherezade quietly walked in, her eyes immediately falling to the short ginger that was practicing her lightsaber forms. The girl smelled young to Scherezade, both in blood and in appearance. But she would never mock or taunt those who practiced. It was the only way to buy enough time to get good before someone else slashed your body in half and you ended up just plain' ol' dead.

Standing quiet there for a few minutes, she kept watching.

"Want a sparring partner?" she finally asked, deciding she'd seen enough of all the forms being so equally mixed.

Eli-Mae had sensed the presence of someone very powerful entering the room, she hadn't thought much of this at first, for she was used to having people come in and watching her train. As she finished her 4th sequence which was only a single saber technique, coming from form V her saber moving as an avalanche. This was a technique she used when she knew she had the upper hand on her enemy for she knew it left her head open for attack. This is why she mostly used duel sabers, it allowed her to attack with one and then have her side arm to be her defense.

As the woman spoke up the small redhead turned and smiled softly. "Sure I can always use the practice."

Scherezade grinned as the other woman said yes. Within moments, she jumped into the ring and began to stretch her muscles out. Walking from place to place was hardly a work out for the woman, despite the weight she carried both in her body mass and the weapons that were constantly on her.

"You have good technique," she commented as she began to empty the weapons she had on her. Despite her good technique, it was obvious to Scherezade that she was still in training, and there was no need to go super hard on her. First she threw aside all four of the slugthrowers she regularly carried. Then came the decision… Did she join in with lightsabers, or did she show the girl how other weapons could overtake them?

Over a dozen blades then were emptied, from places that were open and from concealed as well; ten Czerka knives, Copero's Wail, two Nastirci Combat Knives, and her Knight Obsidian Sword. All were on the floor. It looked like she really was going to fight with lightsabers alone – and thus Fire and Smoke remained in her hands.

"How battle-seasoned are you?" Scherezade asked, playing with the hilts of her lightsabers a little. She wanted to guess that not much, but she'd been wrong before, and there were no assurances that she wasn't this time.

A last motion, she made sure her lightsabers were set to stun rather than high damage. The last thing she wanted to do was accidentally decapitate the girl. Sparring was meant to be friendly, most of the time.

"By the way," she added, "I'm Scherezade." And with that she launched the offensive, her right hand going for the woman's center of the neck while her left hand aimed to run across the woman's midsection from the woman's right to left.

Eli would take her sabers and set them both to stun as well, she knew that this lady who stood before her was likely much more experienced than she was. However, she had recently taken on one of the best duelists that the galaxy had to offer and had held her own relatively well, only having been beaten from a misstep she had made in a moment of hotheadedness.

As the woman questioned her battlefield experience Eli-Mae would smile and say, “I have seen the battlefield only once, on Tanaab.” She said and then ignited both of her sabers. She was ready to get this duel going. She would then hit a button on her wrist letting her helmet fold out of her armor and come up enveloping her entire head. Within seconds her HUD would begin to relay information on the woman.

As the woman introduced herself, she said “Eli-Mae” upon saying this she would immediately be attacked, having her sabers in the reverse grip she would simply slash her left blade in front of her neck to reroute the woman’s blade. Seeing the blade going for her mid-section she would simply move her right hand to intercept the blade.

Having deflected both blows she would launch her own offensive. The small girl took a step forward with her right foot, letting her hips open up she would let the momentum flow through her body and out her left arm as she moved her left arm from just in front of her Neck to a diagonal slash aimed at the woman’s left collarbone and down her chest should it strike. Meanwhile she kept her right arm ready to defend her torso.

Taanab. Scherezade could only sigh at the experience. On one hand, she had felt so alive while there, fighting the Mandalorians, her body used as the ultimate shield while she took bullet after bullet and still plowed through. And yet… She had also been so tired there. Before the battle had started, she had found herself questioning why she was even there, despite the fact that it was Mandalorian taint they'd gone to remove, and there were few things the Sithling considered more fun than hurting Mandalorians.

Focusing back on the present, Scherezade was hardly surprised that the woman, Eli-Mae, had blocked her. It was still warm up, and her attacks, while quick, were not yet fully swift. But that would soon enough change.

While Eli-Mae launched her own offense and took a step forward, Scherezade sidestepped her to her right. But instead of coming for her with her lightsabers, she instead pushed with her entire body against Eli-Mae, her weapons ready to block another incoming assault.

Eli was not surprised when the woman launched her whole body at Eli, she felt it coming through the force. instead of trying to fight to hold her ground she would let herself be toppled over backward her flexible spine bent so that her head was almost on the floor. It was then that she would plant her right hand having tossed her saber far out of reach. She used her single arm to rebound, her foot had a chance to make contact with the woman's face but it was very doubtful.

As she landed on her feet she would use the force to retrieve her saber. However, unlike last time she would attach the saber to her belt and grip her main saber with both hands. She would take a standard high guard her saber above her head, then take a step forward once more opening her hips up, she would slash down toward the womans chest. Her saber came down as a raging waterfall.

Scherezade moved her upper body back, her face avoiding Eli-Mae's foot by less than inch before her leg went back to the smaller women could stand back up.

Her chest was attacked next and Scherezade smiled, taking it fully. She could feel the sting of the weapon and absorbed it all, knowing that if this was a true fight, it would have sliced through her body, leaving deep burns that would've most likely killed her. But that didn't matter right now.

The pain absorbed, Scherezade collected it and shot it out back at [member="Eli-Mae Forrest"] together with a Telekinetic Strike, aiming it all at the girl. There was a lesson there, but she wanted to see how the other girl would react before she explained it to her.

Eli-Mae’s face was one of shock as her opponent absorbed the strike from her saber, that was not something a normal opponent would not do. The shock did not last very long she instead gathered herself up preparing for her opponent to strike.

Upon the strike being delivered she would attempt to meet it with a force strike of her own. However her strike would be easily overcame by the other strike. Eli moved just enough that the strike only glanced her shoulder, enough to push her whole body to the side leaving her facing the woman side on.

Eli gripped her saber taking her other out she would take two steps and then using the force to augment her body she would launch into the air flipping over the woman striking down from above her leaving her off hand to defend her body until she landed

No, it was not something a normal opponent would do. But Scherezade was not a normal opponent. Having few people to spar with while she'd trained in her earlier days, most of her experience and learning had come not from the training halls, but from the fields of battle. And there – there had been no rules. Only survival. Her body carried enough scars that showed how hard earned that survival had been.

She smiled as she saw the other woman's response and quick adaptation to a changing situation. But what she had not expected was for her to do the flip over her head. Scherezade paused, letting her land safely first before she sent a strong Force Push her way.

"When you flip," she explained as he sent another Force Push, "You place yourself in a defenseless position for a moment. In that span of a breath that you were above my head, I could have shishkabab'd you on a lightsaber."

But there was no malice in her voice, no snobbism. She hoped, that Eli-Mae would take it as the advice she was trying to make it be. "Save the flips for when your opponent is much weaker than you, or you need to be in the air for that amount of time."

Spreading her knees slightly apart, Scherezade sent one final Force Push before getting into position, her lightsabers ready to defend or strike – depending on what Eli-Mae would choose to do next.
