- It provides ample defenses against the most common of threats, energy attacks from blasters, disruptors, and all the sorts, and kinetic attacks from vibroblades, and slugthrowers and rips. While it may not provide much against Lightsabers, you wouldn't want to get hit by those anyways. It is meant to be a survivable material, reliable with great longevity on endeavors that have you running through harsh environments, mostly a battlefield.
- In spite of its heavy weight, the armor is still very flexible and is easy to move around it. If you can take the weight, that is.
- Thick, strong, and reliable. The material is design to last many battles and skirmishes.
- The material has no protection from lightsabers whatsoever. Though, this doesn't mean much in the long-run, as the difference between average defenses and low defenses is a matter of one to two hits. Besides, if you are smart, you'd wear something under armor made out of this that is resistant to lightsabers if you are going to face a Jedi or Sith.
- Due to its being a flexible fabric, it has little protection against blunt kinetic attacks, though kinetic attacks will have a hard time penetrating it. The object behind it will feel the full force.
Deciding to step in armor creation, Deryn creates a fabric that acts much like his own coat's protection for the marketplace. The Class-B Battleweave is the inferior of the two types of Battleweave, but is easier to produce.
