Born of Tarkin Family’s homeworld, Eriadu, currently under Confederacy’s governance; Cliegg Tarkin was bred to be cold & calculating, and no doubt he excelled in being so. His militaristic family was well disciplined & since his birth, he was taught to be on time, everywhere. But there was something off about Cliegg that made him target of bully from almost all his family members; compassion. His heritage strictly demanded him to grab power & oppress those below him, but due to a turn of fate, being the youngest of all his 6 siblings, he became like his oppressed mother, kind, compassionate & she was the only in the house who truly appreciated for who he truly was.

His father, uncle, aunt, siblings & cousins, were always finding ways to bully him. Either by hurting him directly, or by hurting one of the servants randomly in front of him. At first, when he went to save them, he got thrashed as well. Being a kid, he couldn’t fight back. But that strengthened him. Bit by bit. Slowly, he understood their ways, & so he started finding loopholes. Whenever he saw anyone of his family members beating up a random servant in front of him, he would ignore it then & later steal credits from them & hide it in another of his family member’s locker, only to see them tearing each other apart. Finally, he had found a way to exact his revenge on them & he was loving it.

But one day, he hid a few thousand credits of his uncle in his father’s room, just to see them fight. The fight got heated & his uncle pointed a blaster towards his father. The scene was getting heated up & so was Cliegg, but just as his uncle fired, Cliegg’s mother jumped in front of the bolt & it killed her in front of his eyes. All he could do is watch as the only person he ever considered family is now dead. He didn’t speak, he didn’t cry. He got up & went to his school as it was his time. After he came back home, he saw that the body was washed away.

He kept up with his schooling. Excelling both in academics & sports, he became a pride of his family. The once bullying family was suddenly welcoming him with open arms and soon came the glorious time of the family’s most prestigious tradition – going barefoot into the grasslands & fighting the Eriadu Wild Cats with nothing but a handmade spear. Everyone expected that he would complete it with ease, returning with a souvenir from his dead predators.

He went into the tall grasses, without saying a word. Hours had gone by & nobody heard anything from the young man. His whole family was standing atop a rock overlooking the grasslands, his uncle just behind his father looking over his shoulder & his brothers & siblings by their side. His aunt got a chair & a separate servant as a courtesy of being a lady. Suddenly a spear came flying right towards them. Going past his father’s ears, it pierced through his uncle's skull, splattering blood all over the family.

Everyone was shocked, trembling in fear, only to see young Cliegg walking up calmly to the corpse. He grabbed the leg, locked eyes with his father & said without the slightest expression or emotion, “I know that you knew about my thefts, & that you orchestrated the act to fight with uncle. Had you kept my loved one alive, I would’ve shown you the same mercy. Goodbye father, you have one less son now. I have knocked out the cats, though not for long. They are hungry & deserve some good food. Come back tomorrow morning to collect the bones.” He walked away, grabbing his uncle’s lifeless corpse. Never did he let them notice that he found out about his mother’s true heritage of being the only daughter of a highly decorated General of the SDF, whom he came into contact with months prior. He explained the situation to his new found grandfather, who offered him passage to the Concordia & admission to the
Silver Star Naval Academy on Commenor.

His journey from there was a struggling one. His only possession being the holopic of him as an infant playing with his demised mother, which was always lit when he came back to his dorm, reminding him what his mother always taught him. His reputation in the academy was rough. People had seen him both helping others & also getting involved in fights that were unnecessary. He was often bullied by others for being a Tarkin, but he never paid much heed to their words as he knew how true they were, he knew the only way to prove them wrong was to accept their insults & show them otherwise through his own actions. At the age of 20, he graduated from the academy being top of his batch & his first deployment was straight into the frontlines where his quick wit, cold calculating moves, earned him his field promotion within a month. He quickly rose through the ranks because of his endless string of victories against worst odds, but never shied away from showing compassion to those in needs. He always keeps sufficient room in any starship he commanded for refugees caught in the battle & when in such situation, saving them became his first priority amidst any circumstance.
