STRENGTHS
- Extreme Energy Protection: - Shell spider silk provides an outstanding defense against energy type weapons. Often deflecting smaller blaster pistol bolts entirely.
- Average Lightsaber Protection: - Shell spider silk deflects energy weapons. Making it very resistant to quick, glancing Lightsaber blows. However, prolonged or concentrated contact will still slowly melt the material.
- Extreme Vibroblade Protection: Shell spider silk can deflect vibroblades. Including buzzing, thrumming, heated, and plasma-edged versions. However, solid thrusts with the point of the dagger may still inconvenience the wearer considerably.

The Cloak of Saint Lauren was created on Denon with the help of Jedi Master Veronica Cane and Rogue Knight Samatharis of Rulon. It was created with the intense purpose of discharging or deflecting modern energy weapons and it's exotic materials were collected or manufactured exactly for this reason. The cloak itself is made of synth wool, synth fur, and Shell Spider Silk laid in a long complex matrix, and woven with the aid of the Force. It is of exceptional craftsmanship, insurmountably heat resistant, and worth it's weight in gold to any sorcerer seeking a slick, unassuming defensive fashion. Able to deflect blaster pistols and vibroblades with ease. And, with some happy surprise, absorbing almost zero heat from Lauren's Lightsaber strikes too.
However. It was noted during testing that strong, sharp impacts went almost completely undefended. From common spear throws to high-velocity bullet strikes, the cloak offered zero defense against the kinetic damage of these speedy projectiles. For while the items failed to penetrate the cloak's sturdy material? They still cracked, fractured, stabbed, or liquidated the target dummy underneath. So extreme care should be taken to avoid being shot or speared in any scenario. The Shell Spider Silk may be miraculous in good theory? But the user underneath most certainly is not.
The cloak registers and identifies as simple synth wool to most galactic scanners. However, specialized equipment can still reveal it's exotic composition. As can the Force.
