Caelia Lamora
Trouble
Caelia Noelle Lamora normally didn't drink alone, but these were tumultuous times. Tonight she neither cared which year it was made, nor what it tasted like. She had feigned interest enough at the King's event earlier that evening to last the rest of the month. The public obligations and the mask one wore executing them was only one of the many expected sacrifices of the nobility.
The door to Caelia's old room slid open. Simply calling it a room didn't really do it justice, as it came with its own living room, bedroom and reception area. Each section was large enough to count for the average Oroccan's entire apartment, but none so richly decorated, and none with the magnificent balcony view overlooking the great Ebonflow River.
Caelia was surprised to see the servant droid walk in. The silver-plated droid, with its traditional gray cape, carried a tray with a glass of champagne. Someone else at the old Lamora estate clearly thought she needed something after today, but she would argue that champagne was not the vibe.
"Father?" she asked it, turning on her high heels to watch the droid approach, but making no effort to meet it halfway. "No." it replied simply. The curtness of its answer caught her off guard, but she couldn't be bothered to check it. "Are we celebrating?"
"No" As complement to its answer, the drink was thrown straight at her face. Before Caelia could collect herself a clenched metallic fist slammed into her midsection, knocking the air out of her. She felt her hair being gripped before its knee shot up against her face. She could taste the blood in her mouth before her back hit the ground.
With a twist from her hand a small table went flying straight into the droid. It wasn't enough to topple it over, but it gave her time to get back on her feet, and deliver a punch straight to its face. She wasn't sure which hurt more, that, or the punch in the gut.
Being dressed in a long, blue dress wasn't ideal for a fight, and the high heels certainly didn't help. If only she had been sober. "What the feth are you doing? Stop! At once!" It didn't listen, it gave no reason, it just kept coming. Caelia was pushed backwards, until she found herself out on the balcony, nowhere to hide and nothing more to throw at it.
She held out her hand, wishing, begging, willing this bloody Force to do what it was told. At first it didn't seem to notice, but she recalled something she had read, about being calm, letting go of fear. She wasn't sure what made it stand out to her, but she had no other tricks up her sleeve. The pain slipped away to the back of her mind, she tried to forget the fast approaching murderbot… It was working! The droid didn't stop, but it slowed down. More, and more, until its feet lifted slightly from the balcony floor. She was really doing it!
Caelia would've laughed, if holding it in place wasn't fething exhausting to do. "Answers… Now" she managed through blood-covered teeth.
"No"
The quick beep, beep, beep was the only warning she got before it detonated. The blast took out most of the balcony, the shockwave sent Caelia flying - the wrong way.
The rapidly descending silhouette of the young noblewoman could be seen as she fell, fell into the cold embrace of the Ebonflow River.
