I'm not quite sure how the best way of getting us into a Clockwork event, but I feel like this is great opportunity. IC-wise this event gives us a great opportunity for a good reason for us to get some ships, maybe some construction/shipyards going, and get our footprint out in the Galaxy. I don't think the Sith or Republic would want our help very much, but we could ally ourselves with the Mandolorians or some other Force-Sensitiveless faction and get some good resources by offering up our aid.

The question is how we would even be able to contact any of these folks. We have been isolated for some time, and are under the radar. I would love to have us join, but not sure how to really set foot in it.

We could have a wave of Clockwork ships land on Dathomir, take them out, and use their ships to reach elsewhere.

Well we are sort of lucky.. we live on an obsure world with not many people on it.. thus we shouldn't be a target... So we just have to find a way to alert our selves and get our selves out there...

why not contact other factions ooc and see if they want to come seeking our aid ?

that would get rid of the problem of us trying to get our names out there

And I think it would be fun to be a sleeper agent !!

Perhaps when folk are trying to find aid they "stumble" onto dathomir just like in the Courtship of Leia?

We can have talks with them and once they mention the droid issue, we can offer what support we have?

IC wise, I think the Mando's would be the best people to contact, as they are pretty close and we both have warrior cultures to appreciate the other.

There is an additional mostly matriarchal warrior society to consider as well. The Echani. Not too far from us on the map.

Mando's are cool too. I wanna fight one.

well, who would we rather work with ?

on one hand, the mando's are active, but the echani are newer like us.

help out a new faction or find an active faction ?

Mandalorians are our neighbors, and yes, Echani we have an in with thanks to Spencer and Aston. Also, considering Echani are like us a warrior tribe and a matriarchal society, they would fit as much more. On the other hand, dealing with the Mandalorians would certainly prove itself more interesting considering some similarities and yet so many differences.

And as Bronwyn said, one is new and one is established. Pick one! We don't want to overwhelm us by opening channels on two ends after the seclusion we've grown accustomed to.

I like both ideas, but if I had to put it to a vote I'd say Mandalorians. Closer to us on the map, interesting contrasts to RP, better materials to bargain for(Beskar), and most importantly a more unified userbase. The Mandalorians are larger, and more importantly they are a 'dominant' faction. The Echani are more like a 'recessive' faction. Members of the Echani compact are also Jedi and Sith, and such established factions will most likely take priority over the Echani. Add to that that three of their members are one person and I just think Mandalorians are a much better option.

As for contacting them, I was just gonna join their faction for a little while and post up a thread suggesting an alliance.
