Cloning Tech

As per the thread the other day, i've decided to further delve into the arts of cloning and creating copies of things. My limitation on this however is that while i have an extreme knowledge of alien and human physiology i know little to nothing about the nature of genetics.

If at all possible i'de like to do a thread with someone where Nemene learns the basics of cloning and buys some of the technology required to do it so she doesn't have to travel every time she tinkers(obviously not enough to produce an army, just to play with one or two clones.)

Anyone wanna help?

I'm sure you already know this, @[member="Nemene Talith"], but I just want anyone who sees your thread title to be aware - cloning Force users just doesn't, doesn't work. Especially en masse.

Well...it works, they just go a bit, crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy.

But no worries there, i won't be making any force using clones. I have a plan!

This raises questions ... Isn't this "New" Body that you received after your "Old" body got cancer a clone?

I call shenanigans

As i earlier said, the cloning process is completely safe and sound. The force however does not like copies of things within itself(regular cones included), so it usually drives the clones of force users to madness(like Jorus C'baoth). In this case the clone didn't have a mind of its own but was instead possessed by Ashin(i'm guessing), such was the case with the Emperor as well, though his clones quickly degenerated due to Darkside Corruption.

In what i am planning, the clones won't be able to use the force at all :)

Clone madness is only half the issue; that affects all clones grown too fast, it's just more pronounced with Forcers. There are also a ton of physical issues -- equivalent to birth defects, many quite serious. Basically, clone your average Forcer and you'll end up with a few dozen 'failures' and a few dozen crazy ones before you get a success.

Ashin's current body isn't a clone. Val'Ryss Zankarr made it with alchemy after Ashin's last fight with Moridin, and the cancer, and the radiological damage, and all the rest. Old Ashin (and her clone Ashiin) looked like Antje Traue.

And i'm okay with getting a few rejects. Though we'll see how it all turns out. Getting there is the fun part anyway.

I might end up wanting your aid sometime soon. I let Zaiden die per the logical reaction due to the actions prior. Now I miss him. I never technically said he died ic (i believe i said he simply fell) i have others believing he did. So i could be cliche and just say he never actually died and was healed etc, or i could do something fun.

I was thinking eventually, when i want to bring him back, he would come back as a ghost and bribe (or something) you to get him a body. I actually am looking forward to a new species other than Miraluka-Human hybrid as well. So we could RP out him coming along, (maybe bringing Droids he kept at his estate) as we seek him a suitable body which we then forcibly clone.

Clone Defects are actually welcome as well, so he could be one of those results that help you further your knowledge.

I would be willing to do something like this. Though Nemene wouldn't work FOR anyone, she would do it for her own amusement and to find out more about the cloning response and process. Other than that i don't see an issue with helping you at all :)

Amazing. Your simply awesome kind one :)

Edit:
-_- i knew i should have waited. Lol now i wanna get him going even more. When do you think you'll be down to do the threads?

You can start one now, we can just say it takes place a bit in the future. Though as you said Nemene's cloning techniques will hardly be perfect.

@[member="Penumbra"] - You can't clone a Polydroxol. It doesn't have genes - it's not even carbon-based. And instaheal/shapeshifting powers? Last time you told me your character had gotten too uber, you had me kill him off. This is a heck of a lot more than just phrik bones in your arm.

0.o whoa there. Lol all i wanted was the shape shifting ability. Stealth + shapeshifting = Perfect Assassin. I didnt even remember the healing part. Hmm... Ill change that up real quick.

I don't even know what a polydroxol is...

My suggestion. Don't pick a stupid OP race like Shi'do or Diathim or anything like that. Pick a simple alien speices, like Togruta or Twi'lek. Nemene will have difficulty enough doing those properly.

Went with an Andolith, a basic species with its pros and cons. I know, i made the sub lol. Shouldnt be to difficult. And if nothing else we can say it takes multiple attempts to get it right.

Im down to actually do it also, make the posts of him taking over the body to find it dieing for whatever reason.
