Actually looking solely at the map invading the Sith at Coruscant is possible. The Republic is within invasion-range.

This would be a good time for your staff to sit down and do some serious brainstorming on what you want to do and where you want to go. The fact that you lost half of the space is in good part due to bad tactical decisions of previous staff. Perhaps your worst decision was to move the capital from Chazwa.
I would strongly advise you consider the following
a)pick a capital in the middle of your cloud and reenforce it.
b)build a series of defense outposts along the line with OS(yes, build a wall #MakeRepublicGreatAgain)
c)work with you allies, GA and SSC. We had a campaign before, the Anti-Sith league, but previous staff did not want to join officialy. Bad call. Perhaps this is even more important now.
d)gear, gear, gear
However, there are two things in motion that do help GR
a)Mandalorians are now east of OS cloud. Mandos are far less benevolent than GR.
b)The Triumvirate emerges. Axis of power will change in OS in due time, which may cause inner strife.
If you want help, I always fancied a political character. I'd make one if we will play sensibly and wisely, with our egos sublimed.

I'd say a strike at Coruscant should be the last "Hail Mary" kind of thing the Republic should do before it falls. Otherwise, what will happen after you expend so many resources on a single planet? I'd rather see us strengthen the single lines connecting the borders, and then ideally work on reconnecting/ reclaiming the worlds we lost. However, that's my two cents - spend them how you will.

Kinda bummed considering a decent portion of us were fairly committed or focused on developing our coreworlds... no they be gone...

Hrm. I'd like to look at this as a new opportunity.
But then again I was always the kind of person to make the best out of the worst of situations. I think we should stop being on the defensive, something I've been doing in combat ever since I let go of my previous character when I thought it was the way "good guys" fought - pulling my punches because I didn't want to hit too hard.
Now I'm not saying that invading Coruscant blindly is the best course of action, but I'm also not saying it should be off the table.
The One Sith is not the solid structure it once was - it is extremely fragile right now, both ICly and otherwise. People might come out to join them in an invasion either as allies or as secondary characters to protect the faction, but they aren't a cohesive entity anymore. Hit them where they are their "strongest", put them on the defense, and they'll either topple over or suffer for it.
Then again I'm evil, sooo...
