Description: Domino's 5% of Cloud Nine that she won in a SSB auction and subsequently began to slowly expand her business interests into. Over time she's Added a small bath house spa and several other areas to her tastes as well as a small estate, always careful not to change the spirit of Cloud Nine and its architecture. It includes shops, several apartments, a small medical center suitable for civilian health matters, and an exclusive docking port. Not satisfied, Domino built in the only unoccupied space, under one of the lakes, eventually adding an underwater restaurant and hotel offering guests an experience normally only found on water worlds. Lacking any civil structure to implement organization, she fell back on old habits and moved some of her Twin Lotus Syndicate in to act behind the scenes as a corporate entity would. Most visitors never see one of the Enforcers and in the rare event they do, don't recognize them for anything other than another respectable visitor or employee. As usual, their activity is kept carefully legal and they even move to help local security on occasion. As such, the Silk District can boast one of the lowest crime rates of the city.
Points of Interest:
Forum- The financial area of the district, the Forum caters to larger business entities that require more space and plays host to public events such as celebrations, concerts, expositions, and other conventions. Constructed in a classical ovoid, the sprawling center is as much park as it is a nucleus of commercial affairs.
House of the Lotus- On the surface a luxury bath house and spa, a more discerning clientele may be invited to participate as an Aurodium Member and be given a more personal companion to share their stay with or find themselves enjoying a quiet game of chance. Exclusive, discreet, legal. Others can enjoy a relaxing swim, a bar built into the warm waters, a massage, or any combination of spa treatments.
Estate- The place Domino calls home when she's visiting. Characterized by its high walls and narrow windows, this moderately sized estate is built around a small courtyard containing a meditation garden. Also within its walls is a rather spartan office styled after the Queen's on Naboo where she can receive business guests and conduct her affairs. Her estate also plays host to the meeting rooms of the Syndicate and a small armory of high-grade weaponry and gear. Naturally security on the grounds is rather tight. Deep in the basement lies a reserve power generator capable of powering the repulsorlifts of the connected section of the city for two days in case of an emergency.
Boardwalk- A more intimate setting than the Forum, the boardwalk is lined with smaller shops and restaurants and is a good place to search out a gift or take a date to see the latest holo-movie. A narrow artificial stream meanders down the middle of the concourse, connecting several fountains and entertaining visitors with the fish within.
Docks and Pier- Little more than a series of four small docking bays cut into the side of the cliff under the Silk District and the supporting necessities, two of the bays are reserved for light freighters making deliveries to the businesses above while the others serve as private docking to visiting shuttles. The pier is somewhat different and can be extended to larger ships pulled up alongside the back of the floating 'island.' This covered walkway was intended for corvette-sized ships, but was enlarged later in construction to also accommodate cruise liners up to 500 meters in length.
Intent: To flush out Domino's holdings and to prepare a potential place to hold an upcoming corporate expo.
