Makai had to quickly pivot the direction of his plans for expansion. Not that the Hapes Cluster wasn’t on his list, but the expansion was supposed to be more slow going with his eye focused on the Corporate Sector and Tingel Arm.

Now due to needing to stay closer to his lake home on Gallinore, the Hapes Cluster quickly shot to the top of his list. He already had a rainbow gem mine but now he would steamroll his mining, gemstone, and extraction business across more planets in the cluster. Plans were being drawn up for a headquarters, wanting deep and lasting roots in the area. Even during war, the inner rim region was always well protected. Only a fool would pass up the opportunity to set up shop in a relatively sheltered and safe region.

Right now he currently stood on Charubah Space Station, orbiting the technology-forward planet. For his needs, a space station was wiser. Fighting traffic up and down on Charubah would just be a waste of time. He could easily refine and distribute all from the same station.

Sliding his hands in his pockets, he half-Galan waited patiently in the massive in-station warehouse just leased from the station owners. Now it was just a matter of waiting for his contact to arrive.

Open to corporate types, politicians, government officials. Basically a contract thread - feel free to be the station owner, fellow mine operator looking to collab, shipping company, security, manufacturing looking for raw materials, etc. Also open to politicos or government types tied to the Inner Rim and Hapes Cluster. Thanks for reading ^_^

What a lovely evening to visit a space station, even if the occasion was business rather than pleasure! Truth be told, these sort of doldrums were something Dragana avoided. She was a member of the Order, but doing such mundane tasks as business upkeep bored her to tears. She would find more value in fraternizing or swordplay then in negotiations. However, such were the tasks assigned to her, given her more social skillset.

Doubtless her brutish Order found value in her more noble background, else why would she be here? "Must you two follow so closely? I am a big girl, I can find my way myself." This was directed at the two heavily armed and armored retainers that followed the Baroness on her way to the meeting point.

The two large men were not just there to keep Dragana safe, but also to keep her on task. After all, the vampiress was often want to wander and roam. If these two were not here, she'd no doubt be in a bar somewhere trying to schmooze with any of the station's guests that would lend an ear. To say nothing of the rather unique issues that came with allowing vampires to do as they pleased.

Eventually, she made her way to the warehouse's office, her soldiers giving a salute before leaving her. She was only twenty minutes late, fashionably so some might say! While fine for parties, it left a lot to be desired for business meetings. Still, Dragana barely registered the time lost. In the face of this she held her arms wide open before addressing her partner.

"Darling, so good to finally meet you face to face! The holocom doesn't do you justice! Oh goodness look at the time, you simply must excuse my lateness. I saw the most lovely little boutique on this station and couldn't resist seeing if they had something my style!"

Head was down, scrolling through his holomail and replying to a few while he waited. He wasn't used to be kept waiting but things did happen, other meetings ran late, traffic control could conduct random stops and searches, technology issues. Never had he been kept late for a business engagement because of shopping. Chalk that up as a first and hopefully last of his life.

Datapad was slipped back into his pocket as the woman approached, Makai moving to greet her from where he stood near a viewport looking over the planet.

"Miss Zagova, a pleasure to finally meet you in person."

Makai moved to clasp her hand in greeting and place a kiss on her cheek, his customary way to greet business sentients and society types of the opposite sex. It was all part of the game, one he had been learning from Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau at an early age. Consider the habit picked up in a small way observing her.

"How was your shopping experience? I feel the Hapes Cluster has a lot to offer, different than one seems typically in the Core and Inner Rim. Although, I am sure you came here for more than just the fashionable boutiques."

The kiss on the cheek got a bit of a chuckle from the Baroness, who gave a short bow of acknowledgement. "Such the charmer you are Mr. Dashiel! It is quite the refreshing change of pace from the Order's stern and militant men. And of course, you are correct, I am here to discuss business. Though, should time permit, I would love to...treat you to lunch..."

It was never a good thing to hear that from a vampire, especially with such an inflection behind it. Putting her unnerving verbiage aside, the vampiress made herself at home. Sitting ever so comfortably in one of the available seats. It was such a shame that Makai was so about business, it would be fun to try and coax him into making a decision he shouldn't.

As she sat there, something began to irritate her left arm, sunlight... Yes the station's window was currently facing towards the planet's sun. It wasn't enough to make her recoil, not yet anyway. It would behoove the vampiric lady to not tip her hand, not yet. Playful commentary was one thing, but fully revealing she was a monster was quite another.

"Darling, could you be a dear and find some way of blocking that sun? I would say your smile is quite enough illumination for the both of us."

"Perhaps a raincheck on lunch, I don't think the wife would be too happy if I was away for long today."

Makai was doing his best to be subtle. Some people were just overly flirtatious. It was a means to an ends sometimes in business, especially if one had a great polished act. He respected it, of course. Everyone had to find their angle of attack and something that made them unforgettable. Besides, he knew nothing about Dragana Zagova Dragana Zagova , it could be her true personality and insulting her would be horrible for business.

"Of course, my apologies."

Hand touched the controls on the viewport, turning it to the darkest dimming feature. Artificial overhead lights immediately brightening in the space to compensate for the difference. It didn't tint or get darker than that, otherwise they would have to move if Miss Zagova did not find the space to her liking. He took his own seat in the warehouse space across from her.

"How goes things in your corner of the galaxy?"

It was definitely for the best he turned down that lunch date. He would be risking his neck, and not just figuratively! Her flirtations were not meant to draw him to bed, that was just how Dragana tried to lure in new sheep. Sigh always so prim and proper with these business types, no wiggle room to bleed them dry. Well, it'd probably look bad on the Lilaste Order to bite down on a potential business partner!

"Positively wonderful Darling! Or should I call you Makai, wouldn't want to give the wrong impression!" With a bemused expression on her face, The Baroness rested her head on her right wrist. "I have been overseeing operations of the Lilaste Order's logistics of late. I feel like we're going to need much more in the way of raw materials."

That would be the rub of the whole thing. The Order was a war machine at the end of the day, and they would be endlessly hungering for more scraps to keep the forges burning. That had to be what she wanted, beyond her own hunger, she was here to feed the Order's coffers.

"So tell me, what can your Mining Company do to help keep the cycle of war turning? I would assume that, with enough credits, you can supply us with many useful ores and metals?"

"Whatever you wish to call me is fine, Miss Zagova."

Makai wasn't going to worry too much in one direction or another. Miss Zagova seemed one of those weird, eccentric types that somehow that conducted business. Granted, he was probably considered a weird, eccentric type to some, so it wasn't like he could speak upon someone else when he was just as unusual.

"Overseeing an entire government's logistics, that is quite the task. I worked with your government before, building a greenhouse system."

No easy feat in his opinion. A lot of juggling and sourcing of products. Which is why Miss Zagova was interested in raw ores and materials. Last he knew of the Lilaste Order it didn't seem like a war machine. However, things in the galaxy tended to change. Makai suspected someone or something must be knocking on their door. That wasn't his business, not yet anyway.

"I can supply with ores, minerals, and extracted gasses. I can also consult and construct mines for your Order on planets of your choosing. I also offer refinement into metal or compounds. It just depends on what you are looking for and if you want to grow infrastructure for your people. Or if you're looking to grow the Order into a powerful construction force and merely need finished materials to expedite the processes."
