- Lenses
- Provides an artificial means of sight connected to the optic nerve or can transmit wirelessly.
- Electro-tinting lenses provide protection against bright sunlight or sudden flashes of light.
- Images and Video can be recorded and transmitted
- Vision enhancement (Low Light, Thermal)
- Zoomable vision
- Optical laser
- Augmented Reality Vision
- Variable vision modes: The cybernetics can alter their field of vision, switching it between telescopic, thermal, and low light modes.
- Provides the user with an augmented reality interface, broadcasting information and communications in front of them as well as providing access to a basic HUD including a targeting display.
- Can connect wirelessly, or via wired connections through the the nervous system or internal wiring to commlinks and other electronics to display holonet data and communications.
- Can polarise to protect the user from bright lights.
- Can act as a Camera, recording and transmitting video and pictures.
- Optical Laser: The cybernetic eyes are capable of emitting a weak communications laser that is capable of transmitting and receiving data via an optical sensor. The same laser is also capable of functioning as a laser microphone, picking up vibrations in a surface to overhear conversations and a laser designator, highlighting a target for others.
- Lenses can polarise to protect from bright sudden sunlight or flares.
- Provide no protection other than flare protection.
- Although the eyes are often connected directly to the nerves, they maintain a wireless capability to allow technicians and doctors to diagnose any problems, a connection that can provide access for slicers (OOC Note: hacking should be treated like any other attack, the person being hacked calls if it’s successful or not.)
There are times when even modern technology is not equal to saving a limb, there are times when amputation and a prosthesis is the only option. While many prostheses exist for limbs, the eye is altogether more delicate. As part of their furthering research into cybernetics, Locke and Key developed the Coeus Implant as an option for those who had lost their eyesight.
It was to this end that Locke and Key developed the Coeus implant, a set of cybernetic eyes that could replace those who had lost their eyesight or those who wished to upgrade their vision. The Coeus implants had a wide range of functionality, from various vision modes such as infrared, and low light, to telescopic zoon and recording functions. [/SIZE]It is important to not that if only one eye is replaced then it would still have full functionality. However, using the enhanced vision modes would only provide the enhanced vision to half of your vision. If you closed one eye it would let you use them, but mostly would lead to headaches and unequal vision unless you compensated with a single Cyber-eye lense or some other form of augmented reality vision that could display the data from the one eye on both balancing them. The Coeus implant was superior to the natural eye in all ways but one, it wasn’t real...oh and it was possible to slice it too if you weren’t careful.
