- Description: The Agema Aegis is an extremely skilled and utterly devoted force of elite bodyguards selected from the ranks of the Vandemarian Legions. Only the most skilled, most disciplined and most experienced Legionnaires are selected to serve in the bodyguard of the High Imperator and Princeps. Clad in their distinctive Praetorium armor, adorned with the symbol of High Vandemar, the diamond, and crafted by the High Imperator himself for every single individual, fitted and measured. They carry the characteristic Praetorian Sarissas and Halberds, combi-weapons of the highest quality. To the Agema only the devotion to protect the High Imperator counts and their discipline is such that they will stand guard for weeks without sleep or rest, not moving. But they are not simple watchers, they are an elite cadre of soldiers, warriors refined, each a duelist, a commander on ground and in space and agents of the Princeps will.

- Praetorian Guard: The First Century, eighty guard-brothers and -sisters strong, are the Praetorian Guard also called Celestials. They are tasked with the protection of the High Imperators quarters, the throne room and the tech-chambers of the Horizon Protocol. Nobody stays in the Praetorian Guard for longer than a quarter of a century at a time, the demands of watch, guard and attention are so immense that sleep and off-duty are often very distant memories.
- Aegis Watch: The guard-brothers and -sisters tasked with the protection and security of High Vandemar, they decide who may enter Highcastle and who not. Their authority is only questioned by the High Imperator and the First Spear.
- Occuli Principes: The Eyes of the Princeps are the first hand observants and watchers at various projects and campaigns the Princeps deems necessary to be informed about. They are agents, spies, infiltrators and can fulfill various other special operations roles, usually on their own and in disguise. Every Vandemarian commander with an Occulus at his or her side knows that failure in any regard is not an option.
- Agema Guard: The 'rank & file' of the bodyguards, fulfilling daily duties, supporting war efforts in small numbers and assigned to more special tasks which do not require one of the specialist divisions.
- Hierarchy:
- The Cohortes Agema follow the same rank structure as the Vandemarian Legions, but not guard-brother or -sister is below the Legion rank of Shield-Optio. Yet there are different titles which exist and are important.
- The First Spear or Imperator Primus, the commander of the Cohortes Agema and aide to the High Imperator. In the case of the Princeps absence, the First Spear takes over the duties and authorities of the Princeps and becomes a formal member of the Supreme Command. Before he already holds a seat, but is officially part of the High Command.
- The Agema make no use of the rank of Demi-Imperator, as an Agema you are right away recognised as Imperator when being proclaimed.
- Legate Prioris: The keeper of the Imperial Portal and responsible for the defensive systems of High Vandemar.
- Brother/Sister Tempestor or the Champion of Vandemar, the most skilled duellist of the Agema Aegis and therefore of the entirety of Vandemar with the possible exception of the High Imperator himself.
