Cold Out There...

Rayne sat within the confines of her walker, gazing out at the pouring rain beyond the warmth and shelter of it's durasteel walls. Ever since she had picked up that wounded guy and nursed him back to health, the downpour from above seemed non-stop. The Rayne-Runner usually did pretty with more extreme elements, but an increasingly muddy ground had forced her to a snail's pace. What was most frustrating was, of course, that she wasn't able to collect scrap with the weather like this. It was far too dangerous to risk. So there the young scrapper was, curled up in her tortilla blanket on her frameless mattress, about the saddest looking bed in hindsight, but a comfy piece of furniture nonetheless. It seemed she was going to be there for some time...

But then something strange occurred. Rayne was overcome with overwhelming feeling that someone was out there, lost in the storm. She didn't quite understand why. It seemed like such a silly instinct, but to the young Twi'lek woman it felt so real. Rayne sprung out of her bed, throwing the sliding door of her walker open to gaze out into the rain. Sure enough, just she had felt, there was an individual out there, the vague silhouette of a person moving in the distance. Rayne threw her lights on to see if she couldn't draw their attention.

"Hey!" she called out with her vocoder. "Hello?"

Weird.

She had felt a person. How did she do that? Was it the same power that let her control tech? It seemed that there would be no answer to her questions, as they were all internal things she would likely never ask another living being. It was worth the thought experiment, at least.

At least now she could try to help a lost stranger out of the storm. They could be on the edge of hypothermia out there. Rayne couldn't sit by idly and let them walk by...

OOC Note: Hey. Nothing to wild, but I am looking for new folks to thread with. If you have no threads with me, consider this a you priority. : )

The wind had howled loudly, screeching across with rain that poured endlessly. The cold rain splattered over his good cost as from the distance, a very faint light was near the head of the silhouette. The shout from afar got his direction, the light shining down nearby as his left hand raised up to shield himself from the rain. Walking forward slowly, it started to rain even harder as the light extinguished from the head but with the extra light on him, could see the way.

"HEY! IS THAT SOMEWHERE DRY?!"

Said the loud voice, almost drowned out as he somewhat hurried to get under the walker...not knowing it was also a bit of a house, only wanting to be dry.

"HEY! IS THAT SOMEWHERE DRY?!"

"Uh, yeah!"

The stranger was very quick to scramble under her walker to get out of the rain, which was only slightly problematic. After all, her ladder was stored underneath, so whenever she released it to allow for entry the ladder would probably hit him.

"Hey, watch your head. I got a ladder stored underneath for entry."

She would wait for a moment, hoping the stranger had his brains in order before worming her mind into the walker, releasing the ladder. It would swing out, locking into place just below the sliding doors that served as the entrance of the bizarre vessel. There was always danger to helping out strangers, of course. Rayne remained prepared for the possibility of this encounter going south, but she at the very least remained optimistic.

"Try not to slip on the way up."

Giving a bit of a shiver, he looked up as he barely heard her voice. Moving back a few feet, the ladder would swing out and lock down in place. There was a loud shifting noise as he realized that this walker...looked retroish. Tilting his head, he never questioned anyone helping though it was better than being out in the rain any longer. When the ladder dropped, he made sure to stay out of the way as it seemed rather...unusual like the rest of this walker. Speaking loudly, he gripped onto the ladder and slowly climbed up.

"I will! Coming up!"

He started his long ascent as he still could not believe his luck in the last few hours, so much for test driving new prototypes he thought to himself. Getting all the way up, he revealed himself to her with soaking reddish blonde hair, an eyepatch and a rather worn out leather jacket. Giving a small shake of his head, some of the water going around for a moment before he flicked his head back. He was indeed wet...probably more wet than a Kaath hound! Getting all the way up, he finally and partly collapsed to the side, his whole body or...well his jacket, smelled of smoke.

"Ahhh finally, dry flooring. You are a sight for sore eyes...miss...sorry, let me turn and get a good look."

His eyepatch was indeed real as his right eye moved to see her more properly. Breathing a bit, he kept shaking a little bit but still had a bit of manners. The heat in here finally was giving him a reason to warm up, not shake so bad. Noticing the twi'lek he hoped...or if a blaster was pointed, he had to think of something else a bit nicer to say, he gave a soft smile as he spoke his mind.

"I thought this planet was less populated...surprised to see someone like you out here though not ungrateful."
