Headquarters: Colla IV
Locations: Colla IV | Denon | Balmorra | Onderon (If your corporation is large enough, where else have they set up shop? You're not strictly limited to setting up shop in nearby systems, but you shouldn't be hopscotching around the galaxy either. A Tier 1 company may begin with a max of two locations with little to no development. A Tier 2 company may begin with a max of three locations with little to no development. )
Operations: Starship R&D and Production, Starship Component R&D and Production, Droid/AI R&D and Production, R&D and Manufacturing of tools of war (things like shield generators, utility belts, explosives, torches, flamethrowers, et cetera; excludes most armor and weapons, and is instead its own category)
Tier: Tier 3; upgraded thanks to Metal Lords mandate
To grow the Bellerophon Conglomerate
To acquire the technology of potential rivals of itself and the Bellerophon Conglomerate, particularly from insectoid species (Cransocc, Verpine, Gand, Geonosian, Xi Charrian, and Yaga technologies, primarily)
To revisit the genetic modification of Colicoids for the enhancement of the species as a whole and for the creation of weapons of war through the Ar’khos Corporate Combine, with the intent of expanding the project to encompass all insectoid species
To regain old contracts, or replicate the importance of said contracts
The Colicoid Creation Nest was founded millennia ago as the Colicoids ventured out into the galaxy, keeping to themselves while simultaneously casting the galactic economy under their thrall. Their specialty just so happened to be droids and starships, with their company eventually acquiring a contract with the Trade Federation and Confederacy of Independent Systems. Isolated for many years, the Colicoids would eventually place many of their companies in galactic stock markets by the time the Dark Ages had ended. Now, they are willing enough to allow outsiders to have a say in their corporations. The Colicoid Creation Nest, like other Colicoid companies, has seen days of good and bad, but that isn’t going to stop them from trying to reclaim and exceed all past glories through the Bellerophon Conglomerate and their allies within it.
Producing high quality droids and drones, the Colicoid Creation Nest produces unique, often multi-legged designs that have more than the two feet found on many battle droids made by bipeds. Unique in their nature, Colicoid designs possess unique qualities and technologies with lines ranging from W-series and Q-series Droideka, to the infamous Sith War Droid-derived designs that they have changed the name of to Colicoid War Droids for the purpose of public relations with non-Sith parties. Marketed as the second coming of the golden age of droid design, the Nest’s recent push to develop better, more varied droid designs that use unique technologies not available to competitors has helped to insure the Colicoid Creation Nest’s future as a provider of droids and starships to many.
Starships are one of the largest makers of money that you’ll ever find in the galaxy, and the Colicoid Creation Nest is not without its own unique capabilities. Offering multi-environment functionality and high-end automation to the Bellerophon Conglomerate, the Colicoid Creation Nest has the goal of expanding its starship offerings beyond its lead starfighters and the assault ship it manufactures, using unique designs that differentiate themselves from those made by Aster Spaceworks by possessing a more Colicoid flavor. Complicated in their design, Colicoid vessels are able to be created en masse and with ease by the skilled engineers of the Nest, enabling the Nest an advantage over those with the skill to create complicated designs but not the expertise to manufacture them in massive numbers. The offerings of the company are bolstered by Phlac-Arphoc Automata Industries, which has reorganized to mine and refine whatever they can get their hands on as well as manufacture, research, and otherwise deal in fuel, and, lastly, the salvaging and recycling operation they possess, which enables the creation of larger amounts of Colicoid vessels more cheaply, as well as the recycling of everything they can get their hands upon. Through that company, the Colicoid Creation Nest can research high-end fuels that provide advantages to unique engines, scavenge foreign party’s derelict vessels for new technologies, and recycle entire fleets of Colicoid vessels. Not only that, but Colicoid can develop and manufacture their own components, making them a capable party in many ways.
The fourth operation of the company allows the Creation Nest to develop and manufacture the category of tools of war, allowing them to equip their droids, their soldiers, and the soldiers of their customers with certain kinds of technologies, while Aster Spaceworks prepares to launch the AsterCorp Combat Industries subsidiary in their upcoming overhaul of their company. Colicoid grappling hooks find their way into their droids, while explosives make up a type of weaponry for the Colicoids that helps to bolster sells and allow them to provide nearly everything you need for a droid. Weaponry native to Colla IV is used otherwise in their droids, until AsterCorp Combat Industries begins to provide weapons, allowing the Colicoid Creation Nest to manufacture and produce their high-quality products with the help of their fellow insectoids. This also allows them to produce their mobile shield generators, which can be used in starships rather easily, or can be moved to the ground to function independently, and produce exactly what you needed by providing cover for your people. Defy Colicoid not, for they will forever expand and add to their company, so that they may grow and exceed their capabilities by plenty.
Known for ruthless behavior, the Colicoids within the Colicoid Creation Nest really only hold loyalty to the Bellerophon Conglomerate, themselves, and those that provide advantages at the moment. Kemoth has won them over with her knowledge and capacity to speak their language, her own insect and arachnid-like traits - derived from the same field of bioengineering that the Colicoids have been hoping to use to evolve their species for centuries - and her intelligent approach to business. They saw a kindred soul in Kemoth, for she is just as ruthless as they are in the art of business. The Colicoid Creation Nest isn’t a benevolent corporation. They care for only themselves and their closest ally, and might have to be tempered by Kemoth’s presence so that they don’t stop planets into oblivion for their resources, thus permanently eradicating the resources there rather than harvesting them over time for more profit while also angering many and losing a customer base. The art of business is almost like a God to them, in a way.
| RATIONALE |
Kemoth didn’t actually come to control the Colicoid Creation Nest directly. Instead, Kemoth founded the Bellerophon Conglomerate and invited a struggling company to join the Conglomerate, and acquire contracts with the Metal Lords, and perhaps even their allies, through Colicoid droids and drones. In the Conglomerate, they work together alongside their subsidiaries (current or future), helping to establish a future for everyone involved by collaborating in a kind of corporate alliance. Kemoth has a plentiful amount of influence over the Creation Nest, but at the moment the Colicoids are hesitant to allow Kemoth full control over the corporation. She has acquired a 36% share, and promised the Colicoid Creation Nest that they will receive contracts from herself and other Metal Lords. Kemoth intends to gain full control of the company and its assets eventually, to have it become a subsidiary of AsterCorp [an upcoming restructuring of Aster Spaceworks], but as of the moment hasn’t made too many aggressive moves. Right now, the Colicoid Creation Nest and Aster Spaceworks are in the Bellerophon Conglomerate together, carving a path through the galaxy for themselves and those wise enough to join them.
