Combat At Its Finest

[Zavzen Sae'ryx]

Zavzen made his way aboard Hydra, one of the ships in the Expeditionary Fleet, to meet it's captain @Tyranus Colik for training in hand-to-hand combat. Up until this point, Zavzen had tried to avoid fighting without a weapon because he had no prior training. This was a chance for Zanzen to correct that.

He was wearing his usual black silk tunic and trousers as well as his sash. He had gone without his sheaths and swords for the moment, leaving him with only a blaster. He hoped that when the training was finished he could add his own body to the list of weapons he could wield.


(OOC: Sorry if this doesn't have much detail, I don't know the layout of the ship and as such can't give much detail)

Tyranus walked towards Zav in his black tanktop. He kept his arms at his sides as he began to speak.

So you want to learn fist-to-fist combat, huh?

Tyranus suddenly walks behind Zav and pulls Zav's arms behind him threatening to break it.

Rule one, keep your guard up....never take your guard down......even if your drunk

Tyranus releases Zav's arm and walks back in front of him. Tyranus crosses his arms.

Zavzen nodded at Tyranus' advice, despite the fact that it was something he followed already, but he was relatively sure he was dying so had begun to lapse. Pushing the depressing thought to one side, Zavzen shook his head as if to physically force the thought away.

"So, what do you want to begin on? How about blocking, from what you've just shown me, it would be a good idea."

Ok, good Now hold up your arms in front of your face like a wall

Tyranus shows him and then he puts his arms back. He then sends a punch towards Zav, not enough to seriously hurt him but enough to cause a bruise. He tries to see if Zav can react in time and block or even grab his arm in midair.

As Zavzen saw the punch coming towards him and he couldn't feel the weight of his swords at his side, he panicked. Flashing back to his time as a slave gladiator he panicked and his mid went blank. His body, on auto-pilot, stepped forwards and to the left, catching the punch in his right hand. The left fist came up to punch at the back of the elbow sharply, causing it to give a crack. Releasing the arm the body moved forwards again and the left leg went behind Tyranus's legs. The right arm came out and around, the forearm catching Tyranus in the neck and pushing him back over the the left leg, causing Tyranus to fall to the floor. The body then backed away, tense and ready for another attack.

That was the scene came around to. Immediately he rushed to Tyranus's side. "You okay?" He asked, "That's why I want training, I can fight on pure instinct but I have no control. The reason I need training is because I need help gaining that control."

Tyranus caught himself before he fell and then stood back up, appearing un-damaged from the assault. He had to admit it, it appeared Zav didn't need any training but Tyranus would still train him likewise.

Good block and counter-attack Zav. Now what else do you want to learn about?

Tyranus was annoyed that he was taken by the hit but he crossed his arms awaiting a response. He was annoyed that Zav bested him but Tyranus knew he would get him back, very soon.

"What I want to learn is how to control that." Zavzen replied. "I can do it as you can see but only when I'm in a state of shock. I can't consciously fight like that. What I want to learn is to make sure I can fight consciously. I was hoping you would be able to help me." By that point Zavzen was almost begging. He hated that he had no control over himself when he fell into that state.

He sighed slightly then continued. His arms continued to be crossed as he spoke.

Will, first take a grip of your instincts like your the alpha.....I had the same problem when I became a free slave. Also, try and stop your body from moving when your instincts kick in and..........also uhmm..............take complete control of your body, hold back and when you go into shock just imagine protecting the people you love and take your instincts out of the way and use your body.......your mind!
