Oh I wish these were a thing more than anything else, however they are often just recognized as "fannon". If they were recognized here as legit I would totally have Akio know 'em, considering his background and character and all.

I can help with Echani and K'thri. In terms of learning them all proficiently? In truth they're a bit like real-life martial arts. Learning from a young age gives you the best chance. And sticking to one or two helps...

Personally I would look to historical European grappling. It was meant to be used while in armour and with medieval weapons though usually longswords for duels. There is plenty of great stuff for HEMA online though I'd initially focus on Fiore. He was an Italian fencing master from the 1400s who wrote one of the most studied treatises.

Edit: Also I'm sure Vitha wouldn't mind helping you to learn how to combat flying opponents. She is set up to teach you how to fight on the ground as well in rather unique ways that would focus far more on getting a beak as close to the opponent as possible and just overwhelm them with strikes. I'm sure some of it could be adapted to humanoids who are armed with a knife or fingers and possibly teeth if you don't mind taking advantage of every piece of your body.
