Private Come to Gloat?

How strange, the quarterly check was supposed to be soon, and yet they hadn't increased the level of sedatives running through her bloodstream, if anything she felt more conscious, more aware of her surroundings. That was the opposite of what she was used to ever since the Jedi Master had bested her blood-crazed self, and put her here in some strange lockup. Although, Persephone had plans even here... She had friends to rely on, even here. The woman forced herself to a sitting position, eyes glancing to the cast on her arm. She could've ripped it off now, but with a plan already in motion, it made more sense to play possum for now. The good little prisoner, as it were.

The door hissed open ahead, as the lights clicked on; forcing her to shield her eyes under their hyper brightness. She hardly looked herself, but her eyes hadn't lost their usual glaring intensity. A second before she would've been able to see what it was however, the smell hit her nostrils; she scoffed at it.

"Oh, you are truly a bold woman. Certainly, you've come to your senses, and have come back to finish it?"

She stated, a false statement, as she knew the Jedi wouldn't have. Not yet anyway. Although she had made a personal pact to make it so one day. One day...

"If not, can you at least tell them to turn off the light"

Persephone offered, leaning back as slowly as she could, but thudding down with a grunt as she lost the ability to control her descent midway. At the very least, she could think straight. While Valery was here, she had a brief window perhaps just after she left to finalize her plans.

After taking the Vampire captive in the streets of Coruscant, Valery had brought her to a high-security prison, unaware of what exactly they would be doing with their prisoner. She also couldn't check herself because of the injury she had sustained. Sure, she fought through it during their encounter, but it required healing and some rest to recover as well.

Eventually, though, she made her return to the facility and approached the woman's cell.

"I'm not here to finish anything, my work is already done," Valery said before she gave the woman's request some thought. Personally, she wouldn't mind having the lights off — she could see well in the dark. But they likely had it intentionally this way to keep Persephone from easily escaping.

"While I can't turn off the lights, I do want to make sure you've been treated fairly. You'll be here for a long time, but you are still to be treated like a prisoner should be."

Prisoner... As if. She had to be careful though. As much as she wanted to shove those words down Valery's throat, her escape would be a lot shorter if Valery expected foul play.

"You give humans something beyond their understanding and expect fair treatment. That's the problem with you Jedi. You expect the best in everything to the point of ignoring the twisted sides right in front of your face. In a few months, they'll have cut a piece out of each part of me."

She scoffed then, but quickly changed the topic. Seemingly uncaring as far as what she had just told Valery.

"Tell me, how is being a Mother?"

She asked, genuinely curious. She didn't get to talk much, it seemed pertinent enough a question, so she asked it with no thought of how it could be taken out of context.

"I expect nothing, which is why I asked," Valery countered, her voice calm and her demeanor without hostility. She hadn't captured this woman for personal revenge, nor did she hate Persephone for who or what she was. It was simply part of her duties as a Jedi to protect, and that's what she did.

"If you're not treated properly, I will personally see to it that you're moved elsewhere." There was no doubt in her voice at all — she was very serious about this. But when the woman then asked her question, that professional side briefly broke as Valery blinked. Still, though, she decided to answer.

"Being a mother is both the most rewarding thing in the Galaxy and the most stressful. My family is what means the most to me, but the responsibility of taking care of children is... different. Nothing quite compares to it."

That was an honest, and inspiring answer. Both of them. Although Persephone had other plans. Given Valery's first answer, when she learned of them she hoped the woman would understand. Her and Valery weren't so different. Perhaps in a different life they could've been friends. Persephone respected a strong woman, even for a moment wondering how useful the other would have been as a Sangnir. Oh she would've taken over Coruscant within a year... Though Valery would never accept such a thing.

"I remember. I was a Mother, more than once. I stopped, tired of watching my offspring die."

Persephone said, voice becoming a little sullener. Signifying some type of honesty for sure.

"I don't need to be moved, perhaps I deserve this place. I have brought suffering to many."

Still leaned back, she opened her left hand, outstretching it towards Valery.

"Do you forgive me, for what I've done to you... Valery?"

Valery's expression shifted into a frown at the mention of offspring dying — that was the biggest fear of any mother, and she was the overprotective type in many ways as well. Just the idea of anything bad happening to her daughter... nothing could be more painful than that.

Then, the woman extended a hand and.. was she asking for forgiveness? Valery blinked and looked at the offered hand for a moment, hesitating about whether or not to accept it.

"This was never personal to me, and I understand why you do what you do." She then reached out and took the offered hand to shake it briefly.

"But I'm sure you understand why I had to do what I did as well."

Persephone was playing possum, not letting on the truth. She had no intention to be in a cage. Though, for some reason she felt very good that they came to terms with one another. It took off the edge of revenge she felt when she stared in those Keshian eyes.

"This was never personal to me, and I understand why you do what you do." She then reached out and took the offered hand to shake it briefly.

Persephone Ambrosia Persephone Ambrosia would remember that.

Persephone smirked at the next question, nodding as best she could.

"Of course, I understand, it's in your nature... Just as you know what is in my nature.."

She responded, looking her in the eye then. Something was there, a little glint of... Something. What was it? Persephone wasn't about to tell Valery that though.

She wasn't going to be in this place come morning... And she was going to slaughter every single human in this building...

She nodded her head away.

"I tire Valery, let's pick this up next time..."

She said, letting her head fall back once more, and closing her eyes to relax. She would need her energy.

"Of course, I understand, it's in your nature... Just as you know what is in my nature.."

Valery simply nodded and harbored no hard feelings anymore. While she had been somewhat angered and frustrated at the time she was attacked because of her daughter being at risk, she also learned to let go. Largely because of her husband, and how he really kept her grounded when those motherly instincts kicked in the hardest.

"Very well, until next time,"

To turn around and walk away feeling different about it all wasn't what she quite expected, but Valery felt good about it. She hoped anything personal was buried away now, and that she departed with the knowledge that both accepted their differences. And of course, that those prison meals weren't going to be too terrible.

Valery grinned and made her way home again.

As the woman left, Persephone watched the woman leave, smiling after her. The last thing Valery would hear is Persephone's whispery voice trailing behind her.

"Till next time, Master Noble... Till next time."

She offered, the door locked, and the lights cut off, casting her back into darkness. The next time Valery heard about Persephone was going to be much sooner than she expected...
