Coming Back to One's Master

Varanin stood with his arms crossed as he thought about his future. Thus far he had little training in the ways of the Force, with quite a bit in the uses of combat, hand-to-hand and others. He did have a Master, if not one he rarely saw...

"Guess I should take this to Spencer and use her opinion on the matter.." Varanin murmured as he turned on his heel, his arms dropping to his sides. Clad in his usual white glistaweb shirt, black jeans, and his vibroknuckles hidden in his belt, Varanin did little in the means of getting ready. He just turned and left.

A few moments later, Varanin would arrive at the domain of his Master with a solid knock on the door to signal his arrival. He hoped that Ashin was not there, last he had seen of her, she had begun combat which ended with little actual fighting...

(lol couldnt really think of a lot to say to start it. Also going off the idea that she and Ashin would be living together.)

Spencer sat at he desk with an empty holocron she was constructing. The day had been quit mostly because Ibaris was out with Ashin which left her alone to her work. The metallic triangle rotated by use of the force, Spencer examined the craftsmanship of her work and eyed mostly for flaws or ways that the holocron could be compromised. Feeling somewhat pleased with the work, she set it down gently and began to cover it with a soft cloth to prevent the metal from becoming damaged.

As she stood, the door vibrated with the sound of the knock. She wasn’t expecting visitors so she was curious as to who would be arriving at her door. Folding her arms across her midsection, she brought the robe she was wearing around her slender frame. Usually when people came to the door they were looking for Ashin, so the conversation shouldn't take long and she would be back to her work. Opening the door, Spencer smiled, but was surprised to see [member="Varanin Zero Four"] .

“Its been awhile, how can I help you?

"Looking to get some more teaching, if you have the time. Once upon a time, you took me under your wing, but we never really got that far. Life took over for both of us. Care to bring our relationship back to the fore?" Xavier asked with an arched brow, leaning against the doorframe. It had been a few years since he had seen his Master, but just as with every other, he was surprised by how pretty she was - though he believed it to be due to Ashin's blood in his veins and the link they shared.

Still surprised Spencer nodded. She would never turn a student away. Though she could feel his eyes on her, there was a familiarity but it still didn't feel like Ashin's stare. A hand moved towards the robe that had slipped off her shoulder exposing her bare shoulder. The dress she wore under the robe was strapless and inappropriate for their meeting. So she made an effort to keep the robe wrapped tightly around her frame.

"Of course. We can discuss what type of training you desire from me. Come in and make yourself at home. Ashin and my daughter are out today so it's just us if that's alright."

Spencer smiled softly as she lead her former student into the living room. She made her way towards the kitchen to grab snacks and a drink or two. "Anything to drink? Id like to hear what you've been up too"

Varanin chuckled at the idea of a drink, as with most men the first idea was alcoholic, but his body - being the last of the CZAR - burned through liquor far faster than it could inebriate, "Uhm, sure why not. Non alcoholic being preferred." Then he brought his thoughts to what he had done since they last met; little to nothing, all of it including Czar missions.

"Well, since last time, I have gotten a few odd jobs here and there, but nothing really note worthy." He said, stepping to the main living space of the building, where he stood awkwardly as he looked about. He didnt know what to do, nor what was expected by making himself 'at home'. Should he sit? Where? Should he recline or remain stationed in an upright fashion? So in the end, he simply mimicked his original stance and leaned against a wall with his arms folded.

"In regards to what I want trained: anything you can teach, just like before. But I have finally decided where I would like to take my specialty; that being physical enhancements. I would like to do away with my Czar equipment so that what I was can be brought back. i would like to work towards being as strong as I am at this moment, through the use of the Force." He said.

Pouring a couple of glasses of juice, she paused and made sure the thin fabric belt was tight around her waist. The last thing she wanted was a wardrobe malfunction. When she was secure, she grasped the glasses and made her way towards the living quarters. Once he took his glass from her, Spencer made her way towards one of the small couches that were in the room. He was an odd one as he remained standing and leaning against the wall. Bringing the glass to her lips she took a couple of sips mostly to sooth her dry throat from talking earlier.

Spencer brushed a few strands of hair from her face to behind her ear, then the same hand rested against her neck as she felt the cool temperature that was transferred from the glass to her hand. Her mind worked over his request, she knew of body enhancements, she had taught a few of the Fringe them. Though her specialty was Force Valor and such – she knew he’d make good use of it. “I can help you with that. It’s good that you’re trying to become your own person and not rely on the Czar enhancements. Though I wouldn’t full throw them out the door, I’d keep them in case of dire situations. As much as I hate to say this, the Force isn’t as reliable as we like to assume it is.” Softly smiling, her hand gestured towards the couch beside her. “You’ve been traveling. At least take a seat and give your feet a rest.”

Xavier smiled, rubbed the back of his neck, and sat across from the woman that held such power as he sought to Master one day. Leaning back, he stared at the floor a long moment, then spoke, "Besides yourself, are you aware of any others that would be good for teaching? As I said, I would like to learn all that can come before me." He moved his gaze from the carpeted floor to his pant legs, where he smoothed winkles that only he could see.

Taking a sip from his drink, he savored the flavor a long moment. Food, battle, love, all things had their perks, but drinking - near any drink - was always his favorite. He loved fruity drinks, minty, salty, basically anything other than motor oil, that was placed before himself.

"Also, I wonder if you think your wife would be able to teach me to shield my body th way she does hers. I think that would be a worthy ability to have in my arsenal."

“The journey for other teachings is a journey you must make on your own. I can give you the tools so that when you make contact with these individuals they will take you as a student.” Spencer poured herself a chilled glass of strawberry wine. Taking a sip of the drink she smiled and the glass found its way back onto the small table in front of her. “My wife?” Spencer didn’t think Varanin would have wanted to work with Ashin especially after their last encounter.

“You’re brave, especially after what I heard happened with your last encounter with my wife. She’s protective of me, I find it admirable.” Of course one would see it as possessive, but that was Ashin - she went through a lot to get Spencer. Another sip of the wine found Spencer’s lips as she pondered his question. “I’ll see what I can do, I know she has a lot going on at the moment. But first things first we should work on what I can teach you.” Spencer grinned and remarked quietly.

“Shall we begin?”

Leaning forward, Spencer dropped her mental barriers and filled the room with her influence. The woman was easily one of the strongest mentalist in the galaxy - those that rivaled her like Jared Ovmar was her very own student. The room began to shift as she stared at Xavier with her hazel eyes. A flash of yellow in both irises and Xavier would see himself no longer in the living room, but in a desolate landscape with rotting carcases surrounding him and the feeling of chains along his arms and legs. Standing, Spencer made her way towards Xavier who in reality was still in her living room unbound and safe, but to him within his mind he was now playing on a different field.

“How confident are you right now?”

Xavier struggled against chains he knew were not there, fearing that which would not hurt him, and hoping to show skill in an area where he had none. He had never battled against a true mentalist, sure he had come close while having a rivalry with Damien Daemon during his Czar training days, but the Ancient was nothing more than a Knight. This was true Mastery...

"Confident....I'm not sure that is the word I would use..." Xavier grumbled, attempting to envision himself without the bindings, knowing though that it was fruitless. How did one battle something inside one's own head? It was a skill he had yet to learn! Hell, he hardly had mental shields, let alone the knowledge to truly use them.

Struggling against the chains, he asked, "What does this help to teach? That I am inferior..?"
