So we're a couple days into the invasion of Lujo and things are going well! If you have not joined in, what are you waiting for? Go for it! All ranks and skill levels are welcome to get involved. Write a great story and have fun.

We have the dominion of Thracior going on and then we have Botor and Ilum queued up as well, ready to go as soon as Thracior or Lujo wraps.

The Legion Yun'Do is having a rough go of it over on Selvaris with Reverance and Vrag. Follow along with the storyline and if you're feeling saucy, PM [member="Vrag"] to see if you can join in!

We have a few things churning right now, but the faction admins are interested in looking ahead. We all have some great ideas that we have been discussing regarding the OS as a whole but ultimately, even the best ideas in the world are gonna fall flat as a pancake if the group isn't excited about it.

So I'm asking. What do you want to see? What kind of plot involving the One Sith would interest you?

Remove Wrath of the Dark Lord and replace it with a NFU Military Executor (Perhaps promoting [member="Isamu Baelor"] to that position)

Remove Shadow of the Dark Lord.

Remove Reach of the Dark Lord.

Restate the job descriptions of the Eye, the Voices, and the Hands.

• Eye = Supreme Spiritual Leader
• Voice = Galactic Sector Administrator
• Hand = Military General & Assassin

Create the Diet of Imperial Planetary Governors, grand council of NFU Imperial governors of oversee each planet within our grand dominion. Make sure it stays exclusive NFU, no Sith allowed.

If it's PvP, I'll have fun. I also like going along for the ride on people's personal plotlines.

I suppose my participation in an internal event would depend what the event was. I like the idea of something just for us (given I only have one character), but the specifics matter a lot obviously.

Mostly I'm just happy getting involved in whatever I can. Though I must admit I'd like to write some stories with other Sith writers and build some IC ties.

I am against having a PC ruler for a number a reasons. This is a Major Faction, it's made up of many writers. Some of those writers have been here since the very beginning, and others join every day. We've seen people pop out of nowhere to eventually become very important members of the faction, and we've also seen people who've been superstars fade away and either leave the faction or do absolutely nothing within it.

If we had a PC ruler, for a faction of many, that one person would have to be consistently active, have a well-respected and well-recognized character, and an OOC attitude that can ensure that people would take them seriously. However; that one person cannot avoid OOC responsibility, either. They'd be a critical component of the faction and if they fail to do their duty as the IC leader, they cripple the faction and waste everyone's time.

If something happened--unexpected circumstances do happen--that forces them to step down, whoever takes over has to be just as capable or greater.

It's far easier to replace OOC leaders than IC ones; that's taken from experience, too. I'm not saying the NPC Dark Lord is necessarily the way to go either. I do believe that at the very least, we must make changes to the current system so that it's streamlined. There's nothing stopping individual characters from achieving the above, and having lots of influence. But going around and granting the mantle of the Dark Lord will only put us in the same spot as Mandalore and the Jedi Grandmaster.

How many of us want bad people in those positions? I can't avoid using names here, unfortunately. Azrael was a terrible Mandalore who pretty much drained the life and activity of the Mandalorian faction just because at one point he was the only person available to replace the previous one. That is a guaranteed factor when having a PC faction leader. You will have someone replace the one we all love, and that person will not live up to the expectations.

With the NPC Dark Lord, at the very least our faction's in-character leadership can be shaped among the consensus of our members, and supported by the most active and respected characters.

It's worth mentioning that the Grand Master of the Jedi Order is not the IC leader of the Republic. Nor is the NPC GM of the NJO the leader of the GA.

The Dark Lord is the leader of the OS.

This reminds me. There's nothing wrong with having PCs in-charge of specific areas of a faction...

I believe that as of now, the Voices and Hands simply don't offer that in their current state. The last time I remember a Voice ever doing something a Voice would do is when [member="Darth Vornskr"] secured an alliance with the Primeval.

When one of our Knights (*cough* [member="Lord Mythos"] *cough*) went cray cray on Naboo and started attacking Techno Union folks thereby putting our alliance with them in jeopardy, Sage stepped in and smoothed things over IC, meting out a publish punishment for Mythos with TU emissaries present as well as One Sith members.

When the GA attacked us repeatedly, Sage, the newly crowned Voice of Sector 2, where the GA is located, went to Sullust with a fleet of star destroyers.

Oh, I also regularly shake my fist at those who threaten to come after Corellia. That counts right? No? Oh.

This is not to say that the system doesn't need revamping, but some of us Voices/Hands are out here singing for our supper.

To echo a few posts already saying things more eloquently than I can add...stuff...at this stage, we most likely have a system that can work.

If there could be an improvement, it might be clarification on the remit of the roles and (possibly more so) being held accountable for carrying out the remit of those roles.

The problem when you mention a PC Dark Lord is just like the issues the Old Empire had, everyone wants to have the biggest dick and everyone wants to be in charge/thinks they can be in charge because theres another PC running the show, when in reality they can't/shouldn't.

We start focusing on power grabs instead of whats really important to the faction. So with a leader whos strength is so great and an NPC, the others in the faction don't even think twice about challenging him, you get all the biggest and baddest fish in the sea in one room and they start actually working together for the glory of the faction.

I think as [member="Darth Vornskr"] mentioned there needs to be more of a focus on non force user character development. We need Imperial Governors to oversee individual planets, and then perhaps some sort of council of Imperial Governors headed by the Voicess of the Dark Lords, because if i'm correct they are the Administrators of these territories.

I was thinking about what you said in terms that the OS needs to have a story-line that we can all impact. I came to the conclusion that... we do that!
The example Sage stated up above is a prime example of how that happens. The story you rock out, depending on what it entails, impacts the board.

As for the whole Administrators of planets, we had that too, the Wills of the Dark lord. The problem was many went AFK, or MIA. #NeverForgetEnoch

We need to remain united against the Galactic Alliance. This isn't the time to cull our ranks or change leadership. That's only a sign of weakness they could use to sweep in and deal a devastating blow. The current NPC works, so leave him up there.
