Companion animals allowed

I'm not exactly sure what the rules are on what pets characters can have, but since Mara wants a dragon and I want to not get kicked of the forum for breaking rules, is it allowed for a character to have a pet dragon? Specifically a Dathomiri Rock Dragon.

Companion pets are allowed.

Dragons are only allowed to be used as NPCs and must be submitted to the Codex, as per this thread.

Only thing I am finding that makes this a "dragon" is in the name.... It doesn't mention flight, or breath weapon, or anything dragon like... Given the Kryat Dragon doesn't require subbing to the codex and it has "Dragon" in the name.... I'd like to get a CJ opinion on it.... Or Even the Codex Admin.

The opinions there will be from RPJs or Admins or Judges of Codex, which can tell you the actual, meaningful rulings per the "Staff" of that place rather than mine, yours, or another members opinion. Since, in the end, no matter how well informed, they might surprise us, after all.

It is a character creation rule that dragons (listed as a banned species) must be submitted to the codex as an NPC and may not be a PC. It is posted in the Character Creation forum as a pinned topic, as [member="Lilin Imperieuse"] stated.

Krayt Dragons are classified as Dragons, yes. Surprise!

[member="Tefka"] - my bad. I've seen them used as NPCs in threads so frequently, and mo few I know lack a sub, that I did the logical thing and assumed dragon meant.... Dragon.... Not large lizard.

It's okay, I understand that classifying a Krayt Dragon as a dragon is outlandish and without precedent, so I hope the community will forgive Staff for this unforeseen "who saw that coming" decision.
