Personally I would replace the dragon with a pickaxe or something similar, remove the gold background (logos tend to look better with transparent backgrounds or a simple one colour, for example Coke)
Also this isn't really necessary but also I would move the text to be all in the same line and have it not skewing the image.
Okay I have designed 3 more company images I hope to use, each with a different type of uniqueness. Some are still not completely finished and are just basic ideas I hope to use.
These are just the base of the ideas and not the fully developed ones. I will greatly appreciate any feedback!
The first one has the most promise, but that pickaxe really needs to be changed. Looks good otherwise. Also, let's get rid of the 'R' thing, huh? We don't have those
The best advice I can give you for making a company logo is keep it simple. Use vector images, keep it to approximately the same size as an avatar - 150 by 150 pixels. If you need an image editor, Gimp is free and has most of the tools you need. Or you could acquire Photoshop, though how you go about that is up to you.

I'd say keep it simple. I'm no advertisement expert, but I'd say you would want to keep it simple and to the point for the average passerby as all of the imagery or just everything going on will 'distract' them I guess is the right word, from what the advertisement is saying. Look to Coca-cola for example as mentioned by Prisc
