The Eclipse Compound was developed to put Silver Shield Contractors on relatively even footing with the lower strata of hostile Force Sensitives - if only briefly. When inhaled, it induced a mental state similar to the Force ability of Battlemind for approximately two minutes. It also reduced the ability of a subject to feel pain or fatigue.
Because it was intended for use by Silver Shield Contractors, it was tailor-made to be synthesized by the Armiger Cybernetic Package. Those without the Armiger Package had their heightened state last half as long.
Overuse of Eclipse could cause cardiac arrest in non-Force Sensitives. Silver Shield Group protocols classified more than three doses in six hours as overuse.
Individuals with allergies to certain specimens of flora on Umbara could not utilize Eclipse. Eclipse contained no nutritional or caloric value.

DESCRIPTION
The SSG-771 "Eclipse" Performance Enhancement Compound was a specialized combat inhalant utilized by the Silver Shield Group. Publicly, it was known as a product of Silver Shield's ever-illusive research and development division. The truth of the matter was that it was a product of the Sith scientists that made up the Sictis Association, led by Darth Adekos.
Eclipse was synthesized from a number of natural chemical compounds derived from flora endemic to the planet Umbara. It was a more refined version of the stimulant utilized by the Umbaran Militia during the Clone Wars, which led some to refer to it as umbaran shadow gas.
Eclipse was incorporated directly with armor rebreather systems utilized by Silver Shield Contractors, usually in the form of a canister clipped to the belt or back. A single canister contained up to three doses. A dose could be administered at any time at remote command of the Contractor, taking up to ten seconds to take effect.
Eclipse was considered volatile enough that its use was strictly regulated by the Silver Shield Group. Protocols dictated that Eclipse could only be activated under extreme circumstances or with prior clearance. Contractors were only permitted to carry one canister at any given time. Violations of or aberrations in procedure were considered grounds for immediate dismissal.
"Safe" use of Eclipse was considered up to three doses every six hours. Exceeding this limit first resulted in hallucinations, and continued doses would inevitably result in cardiac arrest. Force Sensitives displayed a higher tolerance for Eclipse, but then again, a trained Force Sensitive would have no use for it.
