If you're using Chrome try this:
Go to settings, scroll to the bottom and click "Show advanced settings..." Scroll down from there until you see "Network" and click on "Change proxy settings..." Then click on "LAN settings" and check "Automatically detect settings." Then press "Ok" and try reloading pages.
There's a possibility it might be a firewall related issue, as well. Are you absolutely positive this is the only website you can connect to?

Google and youtube just simply don't go down. I think gmail went down for like, an hour last year. Those services have millions invested in making sure they stay up.
I would try another browser, and then I'd look at your hosts file. Or try another device - if your other device doesn't work, then its your router, and that's weird.
The problem is going to be very simple. If you're really worried about a virus, run a virus scan. Windows Defender is boss and comes already installed.

thanks for the advice. it ended up being a firewall issue with google chrome. the problem seems fixed now after a bit of tweaking

Glad we could help. I suggest downloading Waterfox as a backup browser, or using Internet Explorer, in the future.

You can't access any other site but this one? This is a common problem here. Tefka designed a virus that prevents us from accessing other websites and thus we never leave. He is a nefarious being that one. I haven't seen sunlight since last April.
