Confederacy of Independent Systems

There's no separatist faction, so I'd like to see who would be interested in this. A faction derived of people rebelling against the established governments, trying to form looser coalitions and maintain more independence, made up of all peoples and Force sensitivities.

That's it. Both. The Republic wants their Senate to rule over all their involved systems, and the Empire are... an empire. Seps would be more localized in governments and only rely on the Confederacy to maintain their independence.

In fact, the location on the map I was looking at for starting out was Iridonia, since it's located on the border of Republic and Sith space.

They were, but you don't have an army of people with no ideals. Sure the leaders might have been in it for the wrong reasons, but the members probably believed in their own independence.

>.> Do they have... like... members? *Can't recall seeing one*

Also, I'd say that this would be different from a rebellion. Whereas I see the Rebels as more guerrilla fighters and insurgents, CIS would be more of a well-funded established order of planets who want to maintain their independence through all-out warfare rather than hit and run and never really making a good foothold.

Rebs were always more concerned about morals and such, too. Seps, not so much. I don't know how this rebel faction is run, though.

Well, yes and no. The bulk of their army was droid, but that's not all they were. And I'd imagine that corporations would also have some heavy involvement. But I don't want this to just be a "Join us if you want to be a banker" kind of faction.

Yes, all of the droids were. But there were various member races involved in the wars as well. Geonosians, Nemoidians, etc. etc.

I am well aware of how they were funded in the movies, and who was involved, it was also a front instigated by Sidious, but I'm not going to have a Sith Overlord for the faction either, should it gain enough interest.

I get what you mean; having a unified area of space away from where the Republic and Sith are. What I don't understand is the ideology you're using, and why use the Confederacy name considering you're not going to use the same methods as they did.

Because it's the closest thing to it without it being the actual film faction. I mean, I could slap a 'New' on the front of it or a 'Part II' on the end, but the name sums up what it is. It's a confederacy, or a group of systems which wish to remain as independent as possible, though know they need to band together militarily in order to keep themselves separate by force. And it's not that I'm not using the same methods. I'd more than welcome 'corporate backers' and all that, as I'd say corporations would probably have greater freedoms in these systems than they would with the Empire or Republic. What I'm trying to stay away from is this idea that if you were to join it you have to be either Grievous, a corporate head, or a droid. I want to make it feel like a coalition.

About the only thing I'm not taking from the film faction is it wouldn't be a ploy by the Sith.
