STRENGTHS
  • Anti-Counterfeiting Measures - Included in each Confederate Reserve Note is a strand of silk - usually Nanosilk for smaller denominations, with Ottegan Silk present in larger denominations. These strands, coupled with the colorful backgrounds, watermarks, and serial numbers - all together - ensure that the Confederate Reserve Note is difficult for would-be counterfeiters to replicate the notes.
  • Multiple Denominations - Each Confederate Reserve Note comes in a series of denominations consisting of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 respectfully. This allows those utilizing the note to have options in terms of paying for goods and services or when receiving payment.
  • Legal Tender - The Confederate Reserve Note is considered legal tender within the Confederacy of Independent Systems, backed by precious metals held by the issuer of the notes, the First Consolidated Confederate Reserve.
  • Convenient to Use - Rather than carrying around multiple forms of currency, ingots, or similar bulky forms of payment - the Confederate Reserve Note provides a convenient legal tender that can be carried in larger quantities with half to one-third the weight of bulkier, often heavier currencies utilized in the galaxy.

WEAKNESSES
  • Public Confidence - The Confederate Reserve Note only maintains value if the public populace agrees and has confidence that the reserve note is worth the stated denomination printed upon the note. This can cause potential problems in certain sectors or systems of the Confederacy that may prefer more common currencies or that may not agree the note is worth is stated denomination.
  • Fragility - Though each note is made of a Plastisheet-Syncloth combination, they are still susceptible to damage - the most common of which are rips, tears, and burns.
  • Unstable Exchange Rate - Instabilities in exchange rates, including wide fluctuations in external prices against internal prices can negatively influence the worth of the reserve note - as well as things such as distance from the Confederacy, confidence in the note, and other factors, can mean that externally, a Confederate Reserve Note may not be valued as high as the denomination printed or otherwise an individual may find that their reserve notes are not worth as much in the local currency when exchanged.
  • Demonetization - In the unlikely event that the Confederacy of Independent Systems decides to demonetize the reserve note, the note itself would no longer be worth the denomination printed upon the note, leaving the holder with nothing more than a fancy looking piece of Plastisheet.

DESCRIPTION
Throughout the collective galaxy, currency - more often than not - credits, are often the most utilized forms of payment outside of the heavier and often bulkier forms of payment such as ingots, crystals, and other similar forms of precious materials utilized for payments. As a counter to this - and to reflect the continued growth of the Confederacy of Independent Systems - both in territory and economically as they once more announced their presence on the galactic stage thanks to the Ametrine Accords, the First Consolidated Confederate Reserve has begun to issue Confederate Reserve Notes that are backed by hard currencies mined by the Bri-Tor & Keph Combine. Each reserve note can be exchanged at a local Sector Headquarters or regional location associated with the First Consolidated Confederate Reserve.

The Confederate Reserve Note is utilized in many of the same ways that more common currencies are currently utilized the galaxy over - with each note representing a differing denomination as printed on the face of the note itself. Though it should be mentioned that the value of the note itself is wholly at the mercy of the public and their confidence that the Confederate Reserve Note is worth the denomination printed upon the paper - which can cause problems if certain member worlds or more secluded locations within the Confederacy do not adopt or otherwise accept the note as legal tender for goods and services. The upside of the notes, however, is their ease of use in those circles that accept it as legal tender - as an individual no longer needs to worry about carrying around heavier forms of currency such as ingots; while the notes are made of a combination of Syncloth and Plastisheet, they are still susceptible to damage [most commonly rips and tears].

Additional components of the note - including watermarks, specialized backgrounds, serial numbers, and silk-security strands - ensure that each reserve note is difficult for would-be counterfeiters to reproduce, further securing the reliability - and ultimately confidence - in the Reserve Note. An ever-present worry, however, is the possibility that the notes themselves can be demonetized by the Confederacy of Independent Systems - in which case, the individual holding them would be left with a colorful piece of paper rather than legal tender. The Confederate Reserve Note, however, still maintains certain reliability, and its convenience to use - in that an individual can carry more with half the weight - ensures that the note has a promising future ahead of itself.
