Conspiracy Theory

The datapad in her hand blinked once to signal the transmission was complete just as the mysterious recorded voice fell silent. Xhexania stood there for a few fleeting seconds inhaling what she had just heard on the small device. It seemed she was being sent, understanding now why she was on an Imperial Star Destroyer hovering over Coruscant, to the infamous Underworld to root out a possible conspiracy being planned against the Sith Military's occupational force. According to the message, she was being dispatched alone, a sort of test, to discover if there was any truth to this, and to deal with the conspirators as she seen fit. Which she immediately understood as killing them. Tossing the device, that had been delivered to her from the destroyer's XO upon falling out of hyperspace, on to her bed in her temporary quarters, she exited and strolled to the ship's turbolift that would take her to the waiting transport shuttle.

Her mind began to play-out several different scenarios in how she would go about completing the assignment. A full on charge would probably resort in her death since she did not know who the major players where. Nix that idea. She could question the citizens below for information but that would either tip off the conspirators or worse, draw them to her when she was unprepared. And how loyal would these citizens be anyway? Again, unknown major players; nix that idea. She could claim she was a renegade pirate or scoundrel seeking employment. One glance down at her outfit and they would make her for sure. She would have to obtain different garments for sure. And what about her lightsaber? They would question her for sure about that. Since she was going with a back story as a pirate or scoundrel, she could boast the claim she killed a Sith for it. Would they believe her, of course they would because she will make them believe with just a little mental persuasion.

After a brief discussion with the XO, she obtained civilian clothing borrowed from one of the female crew members. After a quick change of clothing she departed her quarters a second time and entered the turbolift. The doors opened before her and she stepped out into ship's docking bay. Another quick discussion with the pilot assigned to fly her planet side and she was ready to begin the games.

Upon her arrival on Coruscant, she immediately headed for the Underworld. Several species and humans gave her questioning glances but made no effort to challenge her. The sights and smells were various in nature and not a single one appealed to her. Desperation was everywhere. This place probably seen better days before the Sith brought war here, but not by much. Swoop bike gangs and crime organizations ruled supreme down here and the only reason they were not wiped out by the Sith was because they served a purpose. The Sith ruled them with fear and in return they ruled the beings in the Underworld just the same. It was a win-win for the One Sith.

She passed by market stands and briefly glanced the wares on display never once spending her credits on anything but wanted to give the appearance she was interested. If she strolled down here and began poking and prodding then her back story would be for naught. The XO had warned her that those residing in the Underworld were wary of outsiders but as long as she tried to fit in, they would think of her as just another scumbag in search of etching out a life. So she would become a scumbag.

As she passed by an alley, she heard her blaster fire and her first instinct was to reach for her lightsaber but stopped her self from doing it. Instead, she casually placed her hand on the blaster that sat in its holster on her left hip. She needed to get used to reaching for the uncivilized weapon rather than her lightsaber, for now. If she was quick to grab the lightsaber, questions would arise on how she knew to handle such a weapon. One could not simply stroll into training facility and ask to be taught how wield such a weapon. So for now, it will remain clipped to her waist dangling from her right side. She observed the incident without interference when one of them, a Rodain, motioned to her as he and two of his comrades, both human males, stood over the corpse of a another human male in tattered clothes.

Keeping her eyes fixed on all three of them, she walked down the alley way toward them. "That is quite far enough," the taller of the two humans said. "I've never seen you around these parts. Who are you and what are you doing here," the shorter but plumper male human asked. "Maybe she is Sith spy! Like this shutta," the rodian said in heavily accented Basic as his right foot kicked the corpse. Xhexania glanced at the body then at the trio of scumbags. "I have no love for the Sith or its Empire. Both are diseases," she replied as she gently brushed their minds persuading them to believe her. "I came here to seek employment. My last boss....well he double-crossed the Sith and lost everything, including me. I fled...there is no profit in dying. As for my name...that is irrelevant. Unless of course you know where I can seek employment then my name you can have."

Glances moved between the trio until the taller human shrugged his shoulders and said, "Come with us." She followed them out of the alleyway and as they emerged, she said, "You can call me Skyrie."
