- Built in heat sink
- Shield can be shot through on the side of the user
- 12 hour power supply
- HUD
- Magnetic boots
- Powered
STRENGTHS
- Deflector Shield: The front facing deflector shield can take multiple hits from large caliber slugthrowers and powerful blasters and hold
- Iron skinned: Even without the shield the armour still can take direct hits by many weapons without harm to the wearer
- Powered: The Constable mostly accounts for its own weight, and enhances the strength of the wearer greatly in both close combat and menial use. It also enhances the endurance of the wearer as long as it has power
WEAKNESSES
- Limited Use: The shield eventually will disable itself to prevent damage and radiation leaking to the wearer, and must safely vent waste heat and recharge its capacitors from the armour’s power supply before it can activate again. Another issue is eventually the suit will run out of power, and both the shield and strength enhancing abilities will stop
- Exposed cabling: The cabling on the back of the armour can be destroyed, cutting off the power to the strength enhancing mechanisms of that part of the armour
- Bulky: The Constable limits the range of movement of the wearer
- Bzzzt: EMP or Ion weapons hitting vulnerable parts can temporarily disable the shield and the internal electronics (but not the magnetic boots or air supply)
DESCRIPTION
Combat use and technical information:
The primary distinguishing system carried within the armour is the frontal shield, designed to protect the wearer in a shock assault role. The shield covers a 170° arc in front when activated, and will stay active for up to 40 seconds before deactivating. The shield’s capacitors must then recharge for 3 minutes before it is ready again. The shield can be “popped” by weapons with high enough stopping power, and must again recharge for 3 minutes.
The armour is not without fault, and the cabling for the power system and shield is exposed in the back to help solve the cooling issues early models experienced. The suit’s power reserves can only last 12 hours in combat conditions, but can be recharged by most external energy supplies.
One note in training soldiers how to use the armour is if they come under artillery fire they must throw themselves onto their backs, as to present the greatest possible armour thickness and so their frontal shield can protect them.
Development history:
The Constable was developed in tandem with the Judicator Reactive Carapace Mk. 2 and is based off of the old Judicator Reactive Carapace to fill the role of a heavy infantry armour for shock assault troops. The armour is the heaviest yet developed by Arms Dynamics, though that isn’t saying much considering the average weight of most armours developed by the company. The prototypes were used in field exercises with the Zweihander Union, to great success and their role as a linebreaker armour established.
