---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Strengths:
Learned. He has great knowledge of the Force and other entities gathered through the study of ancient and modern scripture.
Manipulative. He possesses a way with words which, combined with his keen understanding of how to employ the Force, can see his will realised by non-violent means.
Healing. He has studied the art of Force healing under specialists and in years since has mastered its use.
Weaknesses:
No Code. He has realised that it is often necessary to circumvent the restrictive nature of the Jedi Code in order to achieve his ends and justice, making him more susceptible to the Dark Side.
Emotion. He is prone to becoming incensed by the infelicitous nature and idiocy of so many around him and does not hesitate to call out friend or foe alike, oft-considering authorities in the Jedi merely barriers to effecting real change.
SHIP:
B-Wing Starfighter
LIGHTSABER:
The blade of Cooryns lightsaber is a dark blue-purple colour. The hilt is chromium and has lines carved out all the way down one side, where strips of rubber sit, slightly in from the metal, to allow maximum grip. Around each rubber strip lies a shiny golden strip, one millimetre thick. It has a streamlined finish, with no elements protruding from its outer facia, and is designed for practicality of grip over flashiness. The crystal inside has been bonded with its maker through the Force, so that nobody but Cooryn is able to activate its blade.
BIOGRAPHY:
Cooryn grew up on Onderon with humble beginnings. In his mid-teens he escaped his nightmarish family life to Coruscant, the hub of galactic activity. There he was enthralled by the immense skyscrapers which reached high up beyond sight and through a skyline crisscrossed with endless streams of repulsorlift traffic. Even in the depth of night, Coruscant was alive with glittering lights and rivers of traffic. The larger-than-life environment which surrounded him on Coruscant affirmed his decision to escape the chains with which he had been bound; having been destined to follow in the same line of factory work as his father and his father before him. Instead, he wanted to do something greater, to effect real change on the world. By chance, or guidance for an ethereal power, he happened upon advertising for an organisation that would allow him to travel all around the galaxy whilst protecting it from evil. In so, he was soon on the next transport to the Rebel Star Cruiser of The Rebel Alliance.
At The Rebel Alliance (TRA) he was taken on by Jedi Spark Vallen and trained in the ways of the Force. Though initially he suffered some injuries in his training, his natural finesse with the Force shone through and, with Spark's guidance and experience on the field of combat, he honed his abilities to the point where he was considered worthy of ascension. Jedi trials were set by his Master as a requirement for ascension, one of which was the creation of his lightsaber. Though arduous, and not without setbacks, Cooryn was able to complete his lightsaber without aid and, upon fulfilling other requirements, was promoted from Padawan to Knight.
Some years passed before Spark left TRA for Theed and The Jedi Council. Cooryn then also left the confines of TRA, which he considered to be limiting his development as a Jedi, after careful rumination, deciding to leave TRA in preference for a larger and more Force-focused faction; The Jedi Council, where he would be able to completely commit himself to studying the Force, without resource limitations.
With access to The Jedi Council's expansive libraries, holocrons and personnel, he studied as much as he could and surrounded himself with those who could teach him the most, all the while completing missions for the order and performing impeccably as a representative of the Council. Through his extensive reading and experience in the field, he desired his next stage of development as a Jedi to be the art of healing, which he considered essential of any Jedi. As such, he sought out the Circle of Healers and learned under one of the greatest healers the galaxy has known. After the completion of his training there and the honing of his meditation power, he returned to Theed under the guidance of the Force. Upon his return, he began developing his own Padawan, leading his brethren at home and on foreign worlds in the name of the Light, and soon took a seat on the Council. Here he remained for many years, until he became disillusioned with The Jedi Council and their inability to accomplish much outside of their homeworld of Naboo, in the grand scheme of things.
Since retiring from the Council and leaving the order, he has sought independence from the constraints of the Jedi Code; preferring to exercise his own brand of justice on those who do wrong, at times over the years combining with other Rogue Jedi in the fight against evil. In the years since the Gulag Virus dissipated, Cooryn harnessed his healing powers to help many affected by it and, for those who were left but a shell of their former selves, restore some of their everyday functioning.
