STATISTICS
STRENGTHS
- Spark of Genius - Coralie has spent her entire life studying the ins and outs of electrical engineering, an interest passed down to her from her father, earning her a deeply rooted fascination in all things shocking. She's become an incredibly talented engineer, able to construct and modify countless electronical devices, many of which she uses to aid her in battle. Her skills have also gotten her rather fascinated with droids, able to identify most of them as well as fluently understand them from her days in her father's garage alongside his maintenance droids.
- Electrokinesis - As evident by the subtle scar running along the side of her face, Coralie is not immune to electricity. However, never one to give up, she's spent so much time with it that she's gotten a fundamental grasp on how it operates. With the right insulated clothing, Coralie is capable of directing and manipulating currents. Many of her colleagues consider it supernatural, that it isn't normal to be so in-touch with electricity that she's able to control it, but Coralie thinks nothing of it.
- Bright Side - Coralie is an abnormally bubbly girl. In many ways, she is ridiculously stubborn, never willing to give up no matter the odds, no matter the danger. Her soul shines brightly for her friends and her innocence and persevering nature proves her to be a difficult target to taint and corrupt. While she can be scared, and alone, and feel as if the universe is stacked against her, there's one thing that Coralie will believe in: and that's herself.
- Eye of the Storm - Coralie has designed several contraptions in her lifetime, most of which ranging from quality-of-life improvements to every day items, to innovative machines to aid in specific instances. While not highly versed in the art of creating weaponry, Coralie still has a wardrobe of gadgets that aid her in battle:
- Max. Pulse Bombs: 6.
- Pulse Bombs automatically detonate after 1 second once they're thrown, and have a 5 meter explosion radius.
- Max. Nodes: 12.
- Nodes remain indefinitely until Coralie picks them back up, but can also be destroyed - and are incredibly weak, at that.
- The Interception Pylon needs to be charged for 3 hours before use, and once deployed, only lasts for 90 seconds.
- The Interception Pylon can be destroyed, however it is much bulkier than Coralie's nodes, and may take several blaster rounds to destroy.
WEAKNESSES
- Over-Reliance - Coralie is incredibly efficient with her gadgets, but proves to be rather lacking in hand-to-hand combat. She's incredibly inexperienced, and due to her not even knowing that she's Force sensitive, her electrical manipulation without the use of outside sources is rather weak. The unknown nature of the Force for her also blocks her usage of many of its abilities.
- Naivety - As mentioned earlier, Coralie is incredibly bubbly. She tends to see the good in everyone, even in those whose good nature has long been dissipated. Her overly-trusting attitude can score her trouble, whether it be via manipulation or otherwise, and her generally low amount of run-ins with bad people haven't told her that there are some beings out there that are too far gone for redemption.
- Sensory Overload - A woman on the spectrum, Coralie is incredibly susceptible to loud noises. Her brain physically cannot handle them, overwhelming her too much that she's able to have full-on breakdowns from too much of it. Her connection with electricity grounds her and presents an outlet that allows her to focus and remain calm, and as such she's very easily overwhelmed without them. Large battlefields may not be her ideal spots, making her less effective during high-intensity wars.
- Gadget Downsides - Not even Coralie can create devices that are without their flaws. Outside of her reliance to them, Coralie's contraptions present several downsides:
- PULSE BOMBS - Coralie's pulse bombs are effective against machines, but are relatively useless against organics. Unless part of your body is mechanical, you have nearly nothing to worry about outside of the brief slow. If you are mechanical, however, whether you be a droid or have an mechanical body part, then the best chance at avoiding them is their rather slow throw speed. Additionally, Coralie is only capable of carrying six, so your best bet is to bait them out and deprive her of them as fast as you can.
- PERIMETER SECURITY - Coralie uses her nods the most out of all her gadgets, but they can be extremely weak:
- Static Defender: The biggest weakness for her nodes are also their biggest strength. With several fences, Coralie is capable of some severe area denial, but this also puts her at a huge disadvantage in large open areas. Without corners to hide them behind, her nodes are incredibly easy to destroy, and require clever-thinking in order to use properly.
- EMPs: Coralie's fences are susceptible to EMP attacks. Unless a pylon is active and placed nearby, it is incredibly easy for throwable EMP grenades to take out even the most well-hidden nodes. Without pylons, grenades in general will force Coralie to pack her nodes up and quickly relocate, often into open areas where she's most vulnerable.
- INTERCEPTION PYLON - Coralie's Interception Pylon is her greatest tool, but it comes with a cost. Its lengthy charge time means she's often only able to use it once during battle, and as she's unable to carry more, Coralie is completely screwed if it's destroyed. Once active, it only lasts for 90 seconds, and it is incapable of differentiating friend from foe. As such, a pylon may charge the shields of enemies, and also destroy the ordinance from Coralie and her teammates.
APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY
Coralie is a relatively short, young Caucasian woman with bright blue eyes and dirty blonde hair hidden beneath her outfit's headpiece. All insulated clothing, Coralie wears an obscuring large jacket, with a soft blue turtleneck beneath, as well as skin-tight leggings armed with protective kneecaps and straps to carry her equipment. Without the overbearing outfit, one would see that Coralie is quite a moderately curvy woman with an ample bust often hidden by her jacket. Starting from the left side of her cheek running all the way down to her thigh is a scar known as a Lichtenberg figure; a mark caused by high-voltage damage.
Personality-wise, Coralie is a friendly and loving gal who always feels pressured to be seen with a positive light by literally everyone she meets. While bubbly and cheery, Coralie's social battery can be easily drained, and as such she prefers quieter locations with fewer people to overwhelm her. She tries to see the best side of people, and can never find it in her to properly decide that someone is unworthy of redemption. Her attitude proves her to be an excellent friend and a reliable source of positive energy, but also makes her a rather unimpressive and unthreatening enemy. Despite that, there are times where Coralie is focused far too much in her work that she neglects to address anything else happening. These rare occurrences paint her as a cold and calculating person, and the bubbly attitude drained from her face makes her a somewhat uneasy sight to look at.
BACKGROUND
Daughter to a naturally skilled electrical engineer, Coralie was taught from the earliest days she can remember how to correctly identify and fix any issues with electronic equipment, and with a newfound interest, she found her calling at an incredibly young age. Throughout her adolescence, Coralie transitioned from taking notes from her father and reading every line of text five times over in every book she owned to actively developing her own technology alongside him. From trinkets to devices to droids, the pair have created and sold so much machinery that their following years were filled with nothing but fortune. Coralie's fascination with electricity had overtaken her, and she soon found herself in her element - electricity grounded her, its ordered, predictable flow made sense in a way the rest of the world didn't.
Even after constant accidents that left her physically scarred, Coralie never gave up on it. She felt connected to it, and soon she was able to control it without even thinking. The colleagues she'd work with during commissions would call it insane, that she was doing things nobody should be capable of. Coralie had never understood people that well. To her, she'd spent her entire life with these sparks of energy. How could bonding with it be so strange?
Despite their wealth, however, Coralie could only delay the inevitable once her father had gotten gravely ill. She dedicated herself to creating anything that could aid in his recovery, but his rapidly declining health paired with the man's old age had her fighting an uphill battle. Her father encouraged her to accept his fate, to spread her joyful nature to the rest of the galaxy. In times of crisis, the universe needed a smile from someone like Coralie, but in a state of denial and grief, she refused to leave his side.
It wasn't until one morning when she had awoken to see her father passed away in his bed that reality finally sunk in. She had missed his final hours, he had died alone. The grief was overwhelming, and Coralie felt a pain in her chest that no voltage could dare to compete with.
Following the loss of her father, Coralie felt an even bigger disconnect with the world than she had prior. Friends were shut out, letters were declined, and she hardly budged from her room as she wept and wept until no more tears could come out. The only comfort she had was the warm currents that travelled between her fingertips, the sparks that reminded her of how bright her father's mind was and how his smile was so much brighter. She pondered on his words, how he encouraged her to see the galaxy, how she needed to better the days of more people than just himself. Coralie hadn't ever given it much thought - the idea of leaving him was silly to her. But in his absence, the voice at the back of her mind told her that she couldn't just lock herself in her room for the rest of her life.
The grief, the denial, the sheer emotional disconnect she had felt. Coralie wouldn't wish such a feeling on anybody, not even her worst enemies. Her spark had gone, but with her father's words in mind, it gradually reignited. With nowhere else to go, with no one else to turn to, Coralie had made up her mind. Her choice was made, and as she looked at the bed her father had passed in, she turned to his garage one last time.
Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. But she wouldn't dare quit now. Her pulse bombs, her nodes, her pylons, she spent every last bit of energy to perfect them. Test run after test run, and no matter how frustrated she got, the electricity was there to ground her. Her equipment had been completed, and finally, Coralie smiled for the first time in months. And it was a smile she would never soon lose.
With her father's earnings in hand and her newfound equipment by her side, Coralie set out to continue her father's legacy - not just from his innovations, but from his bright smile and refusal to give up. He had fought that cancer every day on his death bed, she was going to follow his steps and never give in. Her mind was gifted, she could help so many people with her abilities, with her smile, with her kindness.
She was going to make the galaxy know her name. She was going to help everybody she came across, no matter how misguided. She was determined to never give up.
Tu me manques, papa.
