To be Mandalorian within the region of space inhabited by the Empire is to know pain, loss, and struggle. Corlys was a young man of 18 when Mandalore was sundered by the former SITH EMPIRE - old enough to fight for his homeland, and suffer the loss of nearly all he held dear. As was the case with the vast majority of those who followed the Creed, many of those he held close to his heart were lost in the fighting and ruination of his homeworld. Clan Skirata scattered, with some finding common cause with the fragments of the Sith Empire that reforged into the BROTHERHOOD OF THE MAW; others turning to their own needs and desires as they turned mercenary, and still others who followed the path that Corlys chose for himself - joining with the SONS OF MANDALORE in their bid to support the nascent NEW IMPERIAL ORDER in destroying the Sith Empire for once and for all in the waning years of the THIRD IMPERIAL CIVIL WAR.
The young Mandalorian fought with the vigor and strength one would expect, and managed to claim no small measure of glory for himself in the waning years of the war. As the war concluded and gave way to the SECOND GREAT HYPERSPACE WAR, Corlys would drive himself further into the consolation of war and combat, attaching himself to the Imperial war effort as part of a special Mandalorian unit that worked in concert with the 501st Legion. Over the following years, a certain Moff by the name of Ignacious Korvan began secretly recruiting for a resurrection of the Death Trooper programme; with his agents searching the Empire far and wide for exceptional candidates worthy of taking on the mantle.
While hesitant at first at the proposition of officially joining the ranks of the Empire while seemingly forsaking his place among his brothers, the agents of Moff Korvan were persuasive enough to coax him into the introductory levels of the programme that would give birth to the infamous Special Task Force 110 - code named “Death Mask”. The rigorous physical challenges Corlys and his peers were subjected to proved to be an engaging challenge for the Mandalorian, but would also prove to be a challenge he was born to surpass as he excelled to the top of the programme - allowing him to graduate with the uplifted rank of ‘Commander’.
Now, several years after his induction into the programme, Corlys serves as one of the faceless few who stand vigil over the now Grand Moff Ignacious Korvan; one of the imposing ‘Death Mask’ who instill both fear and respect in those who know of them to any real degree. To those outside of the Grand Moff’s personal retinue and command staff, Corlys’ service record has been sealed - with his status officially listed as being ‘killed in action’ in the fighting on Niruaun during the Brotherhood of the Maw’s last incursion into Imperial space. In truth, Corlys has been more than active in service to his new commander, prosecuting his will in both public engagements and top secret assignments that “didn’t happen.”

Direct, efficient, brutal - all of these words and more accurately describe the persona of Corlys Skirata. He has seen more in a decade than most people have seen in a lifetime; and in true Mandalorian fashion, instead of working out whatever inner demons have taken hold of him, he instead projects his frustrations on others on the business end of a blaster. After undergoing the gene therapy and enhancements performed upon those within the Death Trooper programme, Corlys is even more formidable at an imposing 6’-6”s, with a very well defined V-shaped torso. While he cuts an imposing figure within his jet black armor, even without his full kit, he exudes an air slightly above human, both dangerous and intriguing to observers.
