Senator Dod sat behind the spacious senatorial desk, fingers tapping against the polished surface of the desk as he anxiously awaited the arrival of an important colleague within the Federal Assembly.

The room was filled with the soft hum of the holographic projector, creating a palpable tension in the air as reports and projections streamed in regarding the next bill to be presented on Fondor's assembly floor - the Improved Hyperspace Protection Act. This crucial piece of legislation would allow for the expansion of their military forces in order to safeguard their shipping empire.

The Galactic Alliance had dissolved the previous political alliances in favor of ideological alignments which weakened the Trade Federation's capacity to influence the passage of legislation and assign contentious issues to committees under their influence such as the Committee on Finance and Commerce.

Therefore, the Senator from Cato Neimoidia had invited the new Corporate Alliance Senator of Caamas, Ifrit Ot'Hyne to Fondor in order to reform the Corporate Bloc and become powerful once more.

"Ah, Senator Ot'Hyne. We are glad that you have arrived safely, especially considering the unpredictable nature of the hyperspace lanes within the Galactic Alliance." Dod greeted the Caamasi warmly as they entered the chamber, his expression gentle and welcoming.

"Indeed, although thankfully there has been a rise in Alliance Navy patrols on the hyperspace lanes, possibly in anticipation of the next Imperial offensive following our successful defense at Coruscant. Although the long journey has allowed me ample time to ponder over your proposals, Senator Dod. The reforming of the Corporate Bloc." Ifrit entered the elaborate senatorial office, pausing to stroke his chin as he contemplated.
It was quite a pleasant surprise when the Trade Federation-aligned Senator invited him for a private meeting, on Fondor, the new capital of the Galactic Alliance. He had neither power nor influence within the chamber, but did have plenty of fresh perspectives and ideas to bring to the table.
The reformation of the Corporate Bloc was highly intriguing to the reformed Corporate Alliance, as it would allow them to wield political influence within the chamber while maintaining a distinct separation from the Galactic Alliance. He sat down opposite the Neimoidian Senator, prepared to have a constructive discussion about the future direction of their bloc's agenda, provided that they both consented to establish a political party.
"Do you have any goals for the reformation, like how many seats we would need to influence legislation?" Ifrit asked, with a curious expression. Any political movement would need goals or milestones to complete, as that was how they could attract members.

The Neimoidian observed quietly as the Senator from Caamas took a seat, contemplating whether they possessed the rationality to recognize that the restructuring of the Corporate Bloc offered not only a route to political influence for the Corporate Alliance, but also a means for them to seucre additional government contracts and planetary trade agreements.

With the Senator settled in, Dod pondered the motivations behind extending the invitation to his office, primarily due to their shared emphasis on credits. Although inexperienced in the political arena, he was deemed as a fitting advocate for the Corporate Bloc's agenda going forward, given the peaceful nature of the Caamasi species.

"We would not need many seats within the assembly in order to stall unfavorable legislation. By uniting our political might, we would possess two votes, along with the added influence of the Banking Clan and the official Trade Federation representative. Perhaps we should begin reaching to those with favorable viewpoints as our own." Monaray mentioned, lifting a glass of wine from the elaborate desk.

By utilizing the Cato Neimoidia Vote and the Caamas Vote, they could prevent certain legislations from being approved or delay them until they could recruit additional members.

"The numbers certainly aren't in our favor, are they" Ifrit expressed apprehension to the Neimoidian Senator, acknowledging the potential benefits for the Corporate Alliance if the Corporate Bloc were to gain significant political influence in the Senate, but also recognizing that they only had two votes and the meager backing of non-voting corporate sponsors.
"I believe we can find a resolution to our manpower shortage by engaging with senators who are neutral on the matter of corporate growth. Providing incentives and tangible benefits may help sway their opinion towards our viewpoints, at least temporarily." Ifrit suggested, inquiring about Dod's stance on influencing senate members through incentives and material wealth, rather than recruiting them outright.
Every bill presented on the Senate Floor would vary in terms of its scope and influence on the Galactic Alliance; undoubtedly, not all senators would align with the primary talking points. These undecided members would be the first to receive 'care packages' in order to persuade them without breaking the internal rules of the Senate.

"Hmm, I understand the concern. Senator Ot'Hyne but we assure you that our scheme will go off without any major complications." Dod reassured the Caamasi of the success of their political maneuver, while leaning back on the ornate chair in thought as to how to proceed. Ot'Hyne did show some level of support for the proposal to reform the Corporate Bloc, but naturally he was not entirely committed to the idea due to their rather limited influence to shape legisaltion on the senate floor.

The case against them was compelling, that the Neimoidian understood, considering the Chancellor's extensive network of supporters who could potentially unite to challenge them, and potentially block their proposed laws from being passed. Moreover, with only two votes in their favor and the backing of non-voting businesses in the Senate, their chances were slim unless the majority of the chamber sided with them.

Sufficient contemplation has been done for now, as the Caamasi proposed a viable strategy of utilizing donations to senators in order to sway their decisions, rather than enlisting them directly into the bloc. This approach would afford them greater flexibility and options for the future.

"An intelligent suggestion that I am wholeheartedly in favor of. There exist numerous planetary systems within the Alliance that could benefit from professional guidance, promising them industrial support and financial backing." Dod said, with a soft smile. Knowing that they had a goal at least moving ahead.
