Correcting a Mistake [Kaine]

Lightening danced across the transparisteel viewport as Anaya brought the shuttle into land her face set with determination though her stomach was in knots. The last time she had seen Kaine he had been wrapped in metal and raging about Omni. Now Omni was gone, both from this world and Kaine's mind, but the time in between had revealed so much to Anaya about the Sith, about the Empress and most importantly about herself.

Her boots clicked at she descended from the hatch a clerk rushing to greet her. "Your visit is unexpected Champion. The Grand Vizier-"

"Will see me now." she finished for him, not slowing her stride as she crossed the landing deck and entered the palace he had built. She would have stopped to admire it once but not today.

"Well...he's in a meeting. Very important. No disturbances."

"He will see me now." she repeated, her tone flat almost bored as she continued her march.

"With all due respect Miss Fen," the clerk began his tone stern. Anaya stopped and rounded on him her eyes flashing dangerously. "Do I look like I am about to listen to your excuses and pitiful attempts to sway my action?" She asked him, her tone threatening.

The clerk shook his head, licking his lips nervously. "Then shut up and go find something more constructive to do." she snapped at him, before turning on her heel once more and making her way to the conference room leaving the man standing in shock for a moment before he gathered himself, muttering something about sith and scurrying off on other business.

The doors to the conference room opened without even the slightest hint of a knock. Anaya's eyes settled on Kaine's a strange mix of emotions came over her, though her expression remained impassive. "Gentlemen, if you will excuse my interruption, the Grand Vizier and I have much to discuss, you can reconvene in an hour."

She moved towards the head of the table opposite Kaine, as one of the attendants spoke up scoffing slightly "You can't just barge in here and change our meeting." Anaya's gaze shifted to the speaker, her expression becoming thunderous. "I asked nicely." she said softly "Don't make me ask again."

One by one they began to leave and Anaya waited for the door to close behind them and for silence to settle before she looked up at Kaine.

Kaine was somewhat thankful for their departure, he was getting tired of their useless prattling. The nobles of his worlds were so droll, so bland, it drove Kaine up walls, although anything was better than being in the thrall of Omni. He looked at Anaya, chin resting in palm of hand, his eyes glancing over her form. He suspected she wasn't here for the usual. "So, Miss Fen. What's the occasion? Barging into my palace and dispersing my nobles and interrupting my meeting? Must be something important." He reclined back in his metal chair, his hands clasped together, fingers intertwined as his stared down Anaya. "Well?" He wasn't in the best of moods at this moment, and he felt a headache building behind his eyes. This had better be good.

Anaya's cold gaze studied him for a minute before she moved down the table and slumped into a chair closer to him. "You can thank me for it another time, its not like they were providing you with thrilling entertainment." she retorted as she folded her arms across her chest, still watching Kaine with unsure eyes.

"The last time I saw you a droid had taken control of your mind." she said softly "And I wanted to ram Valik's syringe down his throat for touching you." Closing her eyes she drew in a deep breath and exhaled an attempt to release the tension that had built inside her, though to no avail.

Opening them again she met Kaine's eyes "That presents me with a problem. I intend to fix it."

Kaine laughed, the thought of Anaya shoving the syringe down Valik's throat was indeed a amusing one, and he had no doubt that she would've done it too. "Even in that state, I could sense you... Anaya. Feel your anger, your sadness... and something else." For once his face turned to confusion as he tried to grasp what he wanted to say, but could not. The state that he was in, as one of the Clockwork, one of the ascended, distorted his mind, his views and loyalties. It was a horrendous affair from which Kaine still has not fully recovered from, as he hardly works with droids anymore. "I am just glad I did not hurt you..." He said softly, his emerald eyes seeking her own for something, "I may have an idea on what that problem is that needs fixing... do what you will, but I will have to react accordingly."

She tilted her head, a sad smile crossing her features as she felt his confusion her heart felt like it was being wrenched from her chest but she did her best to ignore the pain. "An idea is not clear enough." she spoke softly, he voice barely above a whisper. "You have become a weakness Kaine. Not for the Empire, but for me."

This was never meant to happen. It was only supposed to be a game, he was only supposed to be a toy, a body to use as she so desired but he had become more. She was torn. He had caused her no pain, he had never wronged her but the potential was there for him to be used against her.

And that could never happen "I love you." she said softly, ash her hand came up blue lightening leaping from her fingers to converge on his body "and that was never supposed to happen."

Kaine snarled as he flung his hands up to block the oncoming Sith Lightning, and countered with his own, sending arcs of lightning flying out in every direction. He thought as much would happen, but he assumed Anaya had the honor to fight him with her lightsaber, not this paltry light show. He suddenly broke off, backflipping a good five meters away, throwing off his smoldering cloak as he brought his curved lightsaber to his hand, activating the crimson blade. "So it comes to this, pity... I slew the master who ruled this palace in this very same room, and if you're so set on destroying your weakness instead of bending it to your will and conquering it. Then I shall end you." The attack that came next was an attack of the mind, Kaine lashing out with Force Horror in a brutally blunt assault with her worst fears and nightmares, attempting to catch her off-guard with his ruthless aggression. He then reached out with the force and attempted to fling the large conference table towards her.

Anaya rose smoothly from the chair as Kaine leapt away, drawing on the pain she felt, on her fury at herself for allowing this to happen. She dug herself deep into the dark side and laughed softly at his words "Don't you see, Kaine. I am bending it to my will. Pain is my greatest ally." His force horror was a poor attack against Anaya. Her emotions always ruled her, but they would never sway her concentration in a battle.

Summoning her twin sabers to her hands she ignited them slicing through the table as it flew at her, shoving the two halves to one side. "You will have to do better than that, my love if you intend to, as you put it, end me." The chairs from the table rose around her as she moved slowly forward, launching them one after the other at Kaine.

Kaine deflected one chair away with the force and cut another one into timbers with his lightsaber, letting the burning pieces fly past him harmlessly as he reached out with the force to grab one of the halves of the table and fling it at Anaya's turned back. However, that momentary lapse he took to retaliate allowed one of the chairs to strike his chest, causing him to backpedal four steps before he threw the chair away with a flick of the force. "Your worries are irrational, Anaya. Stop this foolishness at once, this is a futile waste of both of our strength and talents, which could be put to doing something for the betterment of the Empire..." His expression softened, something rarely seen from the Grand Vizier on any occasion, which made it all the more heart-breaking with his next words, "I love you too, Anaya. I never wanted to hurt you..."

Anaya dropped the remaining chairs as the force flashed a warning to her. She leapt aside letting the table pass her by a hairs breath. She twirled the lightsabers in her hands as Kaine spoke, her fury and pain rising in her chest. She shook her head at his words, feeling the lump forming in her throat. Her would not stop this.

This ended. It ended now, it ended here.

Drawing in a deep breath she let out a blood curdling scream of rage and pain that reverberated through the force, shattering the windows of the conference room. In three bound she was upon Kaine, her sabers a blur of red as she slipped into the dance of death.

Kaine stumbled back as the scream momentarily dazed him, but quickly shook away the haze as Anaya leaped towards him, both of her lightsabers screaming towards him. Knowing that Anaya was an extremely gifted swordsman, Kaine decided to play it safe with a defensive stance, keeping aware of his surroundings and constantly giving ground, his lightsaber a blur in conjunction with both of Anaya's. Any semblance of Kaine's softened expression was gone instantly, his face set in a determined, and somewhat murderous, look as he let the Dark Side flow through his being, helping him guide his blade to defend against Anaya's unbridled onslaught. To a normal onlooker, it would appear that the shadows themselves fought with fire and lightning, Kaine occasionally letting his free left hand unleash a bolt of lightning to try and hit Anaya while she was concentrated on his defensive bladework. Deciding that he would get absolutely nowhere with this stalemate of blades, Kaine attempted to unleash a push with the force at Anaya, hoping to create a gap in which Kaine could regroup and formulate a new strategy.

The occasional bolts of lightening were easily caught on Anaya's crimson blades though the few that did get through onyl served fuel her fire and her pain as they blistered her skin. Her attacks did not slow as sh workd tirelessly to get through Kaine's defensive blade. He was playing ti safe and she knew it. He knew who her master had been, what he had taught her.

She felt the shift in the force and in the air around her as Kaine attempted to push herback, she anchored herself to the floor so as not to go flying and slid back several feet. He was reassessing, that was not allowed. Reaching to the ceiling above she wrapped the force through the structure aboved and pulled it down onto Kaine.

Kaine spared a momentary glance upward as one of the archways holding the ceiling up crumbled and shattered, creating a chain reaction that shattered the majestic mosaic artwork lining the ceiling, as well as the colored, and decorative windows in between the archway and the next one, sending shards everywhere. Kaine quickly rolled to the right, but his moments hesitation of looking up at the destruction cost him, and the shockwave of the structure crashing down flung him off balance. He rolled painfully across the tiled floor, but quickly regained control of his body and forced it to a stop before he hit the wall, and quickly rose to his feet. There was no time to dilly dally in this battle, and Kaine now had an idea on how to attack Anaya once again, and merely smirked as he reached out to the shattered glass with the force. He flung the shards of colored glass towards Anaya's position, while also reaching out with the force to attempt to snag her with Force Slow, hitting her with a double-effort attack. Hopefully this would work to his benefit.
