Corusca was birthed from a group of ex-SIA agents who wished to make a break in private industry and being at the center of the galaxy, Coruscant was the prime location to set up a consulting firm. There were many companies both big and small looking for the strategy necessary to ensure they stayed afloat, which earned Corusca a notorious reputation as trustworthy consultants. They offer their services to multiple clients both private and public. They are a long time partner with the Galactic Alliance, collaborating with them to set up national and internal security measures as well as planetary governments in the same fashion.
Corusca's financial success has allowed them to expand into multiple disciplines especially in regards to technology. Becoming one of the biggest data and information companies in the center of the galactic core, analyzing the relations and behaviors of the galaxy has made them reliable for many entities. They work with other firms in creating technology to help other companies optimize their performance, using A.I and data mining strategies.
Their insight into galactic relations have made them a hub for information that many have approached them for dirt on people all over the galaxy so as long as it wouldn't compromise their operations or stability. On most occasions, some companies will go to Corusca for espionage services under the nose of the Galactic Alliance, and they would perform without any risk. Or Corusca would perform espionage on their own in order to have as much information on their competitors and clientele in the private sector.
In order to protect themselves from the paranoia of those who do business with them, Corusca had invested into white collar crime, intelligence, and covert operations divisions. From this Corusca had uncovered multiple public and private scandals involving bribery, fraud, embezzlement, blackmail, and laundering. In severe cases, Corusca have deployed their own covert hit squads to acquire critical information or tie up loose ends.
RATIONALE
Jac Yaxis joined as a former SIA agent who was recommended by an old friend who worked at Corusca. When working there he proved himself very skilled in intelligence analysis and worked in Corusca's information brokering and intelligence services. He was working with a local government official from Hosnian Prime to uncover a case of election tampering in their local elections. Unbeknownst to Jac, his client was assassinated and tried to uncover what was happening on Hosnian Prime. Using his contacts in the SIA and Ministry of Justice, he worked to uncover the wider conspiracy that was Corusca tampering with local elections for the Corporatist Party. Knowing that this could cause a huge political scandal, Jac made a compromise with the Ministry of Justice to arrest the current executives of Corusca and Jac would be CEO. The Ministry was considering putting Corusca under investigation, but because they have assisted them with multiple investigations, they didn't want to risk shutting down a valuable resource. Thus Jac Yaxis became the new CEO without making anymore concessions to the Galactic Alliance.
